MERGED-->favorite bands

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
YEE-HAAAWW!!! Ok, in no particular order, here's the ten artists that I'll prolly always love:

Miles Davis
U2
Coldplay
The Who
Radiohead
Bruce Springsteen
Bright Eyes
John Coltrane
Smashing Pumpkins
Ella Fitzgerald

I implore your sympathy as well for my heavily mainstreamed list... fact of the matter: easier to find music from them.

The Who
Led Zeppelin
The Music
U2
Radiohead
Black Sabbath
Van Morrison
The Clash
Tom Petty
Jeff Beck
Jimi Hendrix

My profile has more... these are my "reliable" favorites. There are more obscure bands that creep in... but nothing consistent.

I really need to get more into boards of canada...I love what I've heard

Wow...funny you mention them! They have a song on a Nick Warren album and it is very good. In fact, this entire double album gives me chills it is so good.

Favorites (in variable order):

1) U2 (these days, I question whether I place it here out of tradition...)
2) Sigur Ros
3) Bjork
4) Orbital
5) Hybrid
6) Radiohead

Some people may wonder why Radiohead has gone down to #6. Well, 1) I *did* say the order was variable ( ), but, after listening to the splendor that is Sigur Ros and the anti-climax that is "Hail to the Thief" (an album that has little new material; but is, rather, studio versions of unreleased live tracks and has very mediocre "Limited Edition" packaging, compared to their last two outings), they have started to go down on my list...

3) The Beatles
4) The Clash
5)Bob Dylan
6) REM
7) Doves
8) any or each of Michael Franti's various incarnations
9) The Band
10) could go to anyone of Massive Attack, Powderfinger, Radiohead, Leftfield, The Prodigy, and Led Zeppelin are a late bolter.

I'm quite old school, yes? Its hard to include newer bands since I like to see a decent back catalogue before I rate them highly.
