max. value of cos(θ) and sin(θ) is 1, when θ=nπ/2 and nπ respectively.

so for a) max. value of r = 1

b) max. value of r = 3 + 1 = 4

and i'm stuck on c).

c) min. value of cos(θ) = -1 when θ=π
