I guess it is now transmitting signals, but at a very low data rate.

I think I saw on TV that the radio works but is sending random crap because the Rovers's computer isn't sending data to the radio. Might be a software problem.

I also heard they found water on Mars' southpole!

Somewhere on Mars there is a car alarm ringing and as usual, the locals are ignoring it.

as much as i love the idea of space exploration, part of me, with Bush's announcement that he plans on sending people to mars, wants it to fail, so Bush's plan to get cheap votes falls through. plus, there are many problems on earth that this "space" money could go to.

And the next mission will be to test the theory that 'Mars is Littered With Broken Robots'.

oooh, check out the first color pic from the Opportunity rover. it's kinda big so i'll just post the link. it's worth the look

http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/galle...tcard_part.jpg

when you think of it, even with all the problems they've had with these rover missions, isn't it amazing that we can actually look this close at another planet?

btw, they think they've fixed the mars spirit rover
they say it was a problem with the 'flash memory' and they've been able to bypass that.
