November 26, 2003 - Madison Square Garden - Preseason NIT Semifinals
Unranked Georgia Tech 77, #1 UConn 61
and despite what some of the uconn people tend to claim... for some strange reason... Emeka Okafor played 34 minutes in the game... which was never close. Villanueva, a bench player, didn't play... Okafor did.

Does the fact that Georgia Tech already beat UConn by a large margin mean Tech will do it again? Of course not... but I'd sllloooow down before I'd start saying UConn was gonna blow 'em out...

How many points do you get for correctly picking the champ? Cause if Tech wins, I run away with the pool....

the fact that people talk about emeka okafor as "the best big man in the country" is a sad and sorry fact for american basketball. the man has limited offensive ability, but is so strong and can jump so high... he's a 4 playing the 5... and so far in the early going, he hasn't been able to get shots over schenscher... until right now when tech stupidly went to a friggin zone damn it. i hate zone's... zone's are for pussies. bah

that shot at the half was the first jump shot either team has hit all game...

and they wonder why basketball's ratings go down and down every year...

uconn could win by 40 i still think they suck... it's just proof of the watered down talent level in college basketball... okafor is a glorified eric dampier or kurt thomas... good, nothing special...

but the writing's on the wall... and i expect every call to go uconn's way the rest of the game, for okafor to get away with countless over the backs because he's a "star," and for uccon to win by 25 or so... which will just piss me off even more 'cause the better team choked on saturday.

uconn's women's team has more skill than this bunch of schmo's. what ever happened to the days of ray allen

watchin' both of these teams attempt to shoot jumpshots makes me want to take up hockey

uconn can't opperate in a half court game... unfortunatly for tech, neither can they. so in a horse race, the team with the bigger and faster horses win... thus uconn's big early lead. now that calhoun's trying to slow the pace down, thus having to play a half court game, tech's making a run and just pulled back to within 12.
