This is a fantastic cover. I tend to really enjoy their cover songs as it is, and this is such a great pop song to begin with. I would love to just find the audio for this, but here's a youtube clip with the song.

Just proves it is a great pop song

Tis annoyin with people claiming musical superiority by saying such songs are crap...for instance the Girls Aloud songwriting team Xenomania are excellent as are the Sugarbabes.

Wow, love that. I never did get into the original, but this is a nice rock version. Would be great to have it released as a b-side or a download somewhere.

It is commercially available in the UK, but sadly not stateside.

I was just about to post the same thing. There's a link to purchase Umbrella from the UK iTunes on the Manics site, but the American iTunes doesn't have it.

When bands do the Live Lounge with Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 1 they always do a cover. There are some really good ones floating about.
