Big Grin Make a dance music playlist

Consider this a much more lighthearted version of the desert island game (no uploading is required, but sharing songs via email is fine with me).

The goal is to make a playlist of dance songs, or rather, songs that you consider danceable, that is anywhere from 15-30 songs long. It could be for use at a party, club, or for your own personal use. Multiple artists are allowed.

The lists will probably vary quite a bit, as people all dance to very different kinds of music, which is the whole point, and will keep things interesting.

I'll start:

1. Funkadelic- One Nation Under A Groove
2. Beastie Boys - Shake Your Rump
3. LCD Soundsystem – Tribulations
4. Blur - Girls And Boys
5. Pulp - Common People
6. U2 - Do You Feel Loved
7. Sly And The Family Stone - Luv N' Haight
8. Beck - Nicotine & Gravy
9. Justin Timberlake - Rock Your Body
10. Beastie Boys - Hey Ladies
11. The Go! Team – Get It Together
12. Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out
13. White Stripes - Ball And Biscuit
14. Beck - Mixed Bizness
15. Prince – It
16. Happy Mondays - Step On
17. Stone Roses - She Bangs The Drums
18. Primal Scream – Loaded
19. Supergrass - Pumping On Your Stereo
20. Beck - Peaches & Cream
21. Stevie Wonder - Higher Ground
22. Led Zeppelin - The Ocean
23. Prince - Purple Rain

Can my list include the entire "Confessions on a Dance Floor" album by Madonna?

I'll be back later after thinking about this for a while.

Once a friend of mine asked me if I could compilate Madonna's songs with dance/up-tempo style.

COAD is fucking great to listen to when you're driving to the clubs at a friday night.

Heck, forget about driving to a club, I just want to find a club that will play the entire COADF so I can dance to it. ;-)

I was just going to list everything that’s on my iPod dance playlist (entitled “Dance, You Fool!”), but it’s apparently in sore need of some editing. So here’s a select selection. I’m just going to list them alphabetically, rather than staying up all night thinking hard about what the best track order should be.

You have to have some disco, some 80s, something funky, something cheesy ... hell, people. I'm a dancing fool. If it has a beat, I'll dance to it.

Amerie – 1 Thing
Annie – Heartbeat
Basement Jaxx – U Don’t Know Me
Beyonce – Crazy In Love
Cheryl Lynn – Got to Be Real
Chic – Good Times
Christina Aguilera vs. The Strokes (mash-up) – A Stroke of Genie-us
Deee-Lite – Groove Is In the Heart
Depeche Mode – I Feel You
Duran Duran – (Reach Up For the) Sunrise
Earth, Wind and Fire - September
The Emotions – Best of My Love
Erasure – Star
Fischerspooner – Emerge
Franz Ferdinand – Take Me Out
George Michael – Freedom ‘90
Girls Aloud – Wake Me Up
Goldfrapp – Strict Machine
Goldfrapp – Ooh La La
Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc
Gwen Stefani – What You Waiting For?
Jamelia – Superstar
Jamiroquai – Canned Heat
JC Chasez – 100 Ways
JC Chasez – All Day Long I Dream About Sex
Kanye West – Gold Digger
Kanye West – The New Workout Plan
The Killers – Mr. Brightside
The Killers – Somebody Told Me
Kylie Minogue – Come Into My World (Fischerspooner Remix)
Kylie Minogue – Your Disco Needs You
Kylie Minogue – I Believe In You
LCD Soundsystem – Daft Punk Is Playing At My House
Madonna – Ray of Light
Madonna – Hung Up
Madonna – Get Together
Madonna – Jump
Mel C – I Turn to You (Techno Remix)
Michael Jackson – Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough
Missy Elliott – Pass That Dutch
Missy Elliott vs. Joy Division – Love Will Freak Us
New Order – Temptation
Orbital – Halcyon (And On and On)
Primal Scream – Movin’ On Up
Prince – Gett Off
Prodigy – Smack My Bitch Up
Pulp – Common People
Rachel Stevens – So Good
Robyn – Knichiwa Bitches
The Roots – Seed 2.0
Sir Mix-a-Lot – Baby Got Back
Sly and the Family Stone – I Want To Take You Higher
Sly and the Family Stone – If You Want Me to Stay
Stereo MCs – Elevate My Mind
Stevie Wonder – Superstition
Sugababes – Freak Like Me
Teddybears – Yours to Keep
Thelma Houston – Don’t Leave Me This Way
The Time – Jungle Love
United States of Electronica – It Is On!

Crapola, I forgot all my good time fun oldies.

Beatles - Twist and Shout
Sam Cooke - Twistin' the Night Away
? and the Mysterians - 96 Tears

gotta have some James Brown, some more miscellaneous Motown ... like Shotgun! or Dancing In the Streets!

Man. I wanna dance. Who wants to come over and annoy my downstairs neighbors by shaking your groove things in my living room?

Ooh dang, and I forgot some U2. I'd throw Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car onto my list, too. And Mysterious Ways. And Out of Control.

(I'll stop now. )
