Make-A-Best-Of

The premise is this: Pick a band that HASN'T released a Best Of yet, and make a 'Best Of' for that band. The only rules are that each of your 'Best Of's must fit on no more than two 80-minute CDs(you can make a single disc if you so desire), and that the band you choose MUST have AT LEAST FOUR LPs out. Other than that, it's all up to you. Try to give your 'Best Of's a flow, and a creative title as well.

I'll go first:

Since I've Been Loving You: The Best Of Led Zeppelin

Disc 1: 1969-1971

1.Rock And Roll
2.Whole Lotta Love
3.Dazed And Confused
4.What Is And What Should Never Be
5.Black Dog
6.Since I've Been Loving You
7.Your Time Is Gonna Come
8.Gallows Pole
9.Ramble On
10.Heartbreaker
11.Communication Breakdwon
12.Immigrant Song
13.Friends
14.Going To California
15.Tangerine
16.That's The Way
17.Stairway To Heaven

Disc 2: 1972-1978

1.The Song Remains The Same
2.D'yer Mak'er
3.All My Love
4.Over The Hills And Far Away
5.Down By The Seaside
6.Bron-Yr-Aur
7.In The Light
8.The Rover
9.Houses Of The Holy
10.In My Time Of Dying
11.The Ocean
12.Kashmir
13.Achilles Last Stand

7. Don't Look Back in Anger
8. Let There Be Love
9. Champagne Supernova
10. The Hindu Times
11. Cigarettes & Alcohol
12. Magic Pie
13. The Masterplan
14. Live Forever
15. Little by Little
16. Sad Song
17. Whatever

Disc 2:

1. Acquiesce
2. Some Might Say
3. Slide Away
4. The Importance of Being Idle
5. Married With Children
6. Wonderwall
7. Don't Go Away
8. Idler's Dream
9. Going Nowhere

I can't think of any band or artist I like that hasn't released a best of. The only ones that haven't have released less than four albums.

Oh lord, I can't believe I forgot about Radiohead. This is why I should always check my music library before I comment. Radiohead didn't enter my mind initially because I'd written off the idea of a Radiohead best of a long time ago. I think their albums work better as albums, not collections of songs. Still, I might give it a go.

Haha.. I guess it's a tribute to reggae or whatever but I don't get it. Everytime it comes on the radio, I change the station!

Besides, isn't Thank You essential?

Thank You would go on Disc 1 because it was on LZII, and Disc 1 is already 80 minutes exactly. No room to add anything, and there's nothing I want to get rid of either.

Well, I'm not an fan of compilations that doesn't bring this or that song that was a huge succes and it don't appears there (c.f. U2's The Best Of 1990-2000)...

I'm not a fan of Bon Jovi, but since they don't have a compilation for the second half of their career, here it goes...

1. It's my life
2. Everyday
3. This ain't a love song
4. These days
5. Lie to me
6. Welcome to wherever you are
7. Real life
8. Have a nice day
9. Who says you can't go home
10. Say it isn't so
11. Midnight in Chelsea *
12. Something for the pain
13. All about lovin' you
14. Misunderstood
15. Thank you for loving me
16. (bonus) One wild night
17. (bonus) Please come home for Christmas

I'll give mine a shot:

Everything in Its Right Place: The Best of Radiohead

Disc 1:
1. 2 + 2 = 5 (The Lukewarm.)
2. My Iron Lung
3. Creep
4. Killer Cars

6. There There. (The Boney King of Nowhere.)
7. Worrywort
8. Idioteque
9. Knives Out
10. Karma Police
11. Talk Show Host
12. Where I End and You Begin. (The Sky is Falling in.)
13. Planet Telex
14. The National Anthem
15. Subterranean Homesick Alien
16. Life in a Glasshouse
17. I Want None of This
18. Kid A

Disc 2:
1. Airbag
2. Paranoid Android
3. Myxomatosis. (Judge, Jury & Executioner.)
4. Polyethylene (Parts 1 & 2)
5. The Bends
6. Just
7. Optimistic
8. Morning Bell / Amnesiac
9. Backdrifts. (Honeymoon is Over.)
10. How to Disappear Completely
11. Gagging Order
12. No Surprises Please
13. Exit Music (For a Film)
14. Let Down
15. Fake Plastic Trees
16. Street Spirit (Fade Out)
17. You and Whose Army?
18. Everything in Its Right Place

Some of its disjointed, some of it flows extremely well. I listen to this mix non-stop.

I'm not qualified to make an AC/DC Best of, but I'm pretty sure they've never released one...
