You knew that was coming, though. Usually if it's just one person, it doesn't get noticed, but when the bashing starts to pile on, forget it.

I don't really understand how it's any different from the countless EYKIW threads bashing HTDAAB that they let slide, but that's just me. It's probably just bias talking.

My mother's car died in the middle of an intersection while making a turn once. No lie.
my very first car had electrical problems, and it'd die whenever it rained. one time i was in the middle of an intersection when it died. thankfully it was a three-way stop intersection so it's not like people would've been speeding through and i was at risk. but still, it pissed me off. one day, i still remember, i was trying to meet my mom so i could get a new tire (or maybe she was) and it kept dying every other foot. i couldn't even drive past my street. i was all hysterical and she didn't have a cell phone so i had no way to reach her.

I've no opinion on Bon Jovi because I've never tried to get into it. The only tracks I've heard are his two popular ones, whatever they're called. Livin' on a Prayer and It's My Life? Probably.

My uncle, who is a huge Springsteen fan, has a friend who shows up to all his parties who's a huge Bon Jovi fan. She keeps trying to get me to listen, saying I'm listening to the wrong Jersey musician. I'll take the Springsteen side, thanks.

I think people on this forum are way too sensitive, to be honest. I found the Bon Jovi jokes hilarious.

everything off slippery when wet sounds the same. sars. that's not me being ignorant of their other music, i mean i can sing the lyrics to one song over another. whenever it comes on the radio, i go "whoooooooooa we're halfway there cuz you give love a bad name" and i'm telling you, it fits!

My car stalled at a four way stop during the 2003 blackout. It was a 92 Escort and after that I vowed never to own a used car again.

I think I've given you enough free rides for one lifetime.

Are you serious? People are getting pissy in the BJ thread? Probably the same people who post in the (Red) thread seventy million times every day...

What if you started a thread about, say, a surprise gig by David Bowie in the Philly area and everyone came in and talked shit about Bowie calling him a weirdo who can't sing? Don't tell me it won't bother you.

Exactly!

LM, what if it were Aerosmith? And don't deny that you like them! :p

Oh btw, hai guys.

I'd have to suck it up and take it. :slant: In Aerosmith's case, I always have to.

Some people on this forum really need to toughen up. Bon Jovi sucks. I'm allowed to say that, and there's nothing you can do about that.

i know what you mean! the first car i had used to be in good condition, but in the last years of my granny's life (no one else wanted the car when she died so i was like "shit, i'll take it!" i'd just turned 16 so of course i wanted a car) she didn't take such good care of it. then the car i got after that i got used as well, and i loved that car. if i hadn't been in an accident, i'd probably still drive it today. i'd grown such a sense of attachment to it that i'd said even when i got a newer car, i'd still keep that one :shifty:

but the experiences of that first car, and the fact that i needed to get expensive maintenance done to the second car (timing belt, crap like that) made me say i want to buy a car, and then sell it BEFORE all the expensive shit starts coming up. i'd love it if i never bought a timing belt again :tsk: or any of those other several hundred dollars maintenance repairs.

Yeah, I've got more mileage behind me.
:giggle: i just lucked out and was able to buy a new car last year. although in retrospect, it wasn't the wisest choice as it's really hard for me to make that car payment each month.

i forget how many miles either of my older cars had :hmm:

all i've bought so far for this car is plenty of gas, and a tire. so far i've only needed to change the oil once, and it was free. and thanks to that new tire, i now get tire rotation and balance for life

It wouldn't bother me in the least. I have to deal with being a U2 fan in real life, I've had practice dealing with opposing viewpoints.

I'd defend him, but I wouldn't get insulted or bothered.

Incorrect! I posted in that thread asking people to stop bashing but I don't post in the RED thread 70 million times a day! ;) I don't even remember the last time I posted there. Anyway, I just felt bad for the hate posts piling on and on over the OP who was obviously quite excited.

At least you didn't call U2 corporate. I thought someone was going to chew one of my limbs off for that.

I wish people would be a little more respectful of opposing viewpoints around here sometimes. It's possible to say something critical of U2 (or anything else) and not be flat-out bashing them. A lot of people don't seem to get that.

The point is we all know that wouldn't happen becasue Bowie is too popular in B&C so instead, anyone that tried to insult him would get bitched at instead until they leave the thread.

Face it guys, if it's a band that isn't liked by a handful of B&C people, it's going to be bashed into obscurity.

But if it's some whiny new Indie band or if it's an well founded already popular band, then the thread is going to be protected at all costs.

I usually don't get involved in these stupid arguments, and I don't plan on continuing this one, I'll talk to you guys later.

Honestly, being a U2 fan prepares you for real life. Defending Bono is a restless job if you make it so.

I'm honest with people: if they start talking about Bono, I say I don't give a shit what he says, I just dig the music.
