I was shouting during the screen this week, "Oh please let it not just be in the kid's mind--cop out, cop out!"

But the show people have said, there's a general theme that everyone on the island has something odd in their past--there's a reason their on the island. And certainly, Walt's weird "talent" doesn't really have a connection to the French woman, Ethan, the hatch, or the voices Sayid heard...so there's something else at work. I hope.

New episode finally

Ok, so Claire's back, but she has amnesia, so we don't find out what happened to her . . .

Oooo, they capture Ethan . . . but Charlie kills him before they can get any information from Ethan . . .

And next week, we're back to Jack/Kate/Sawyer triangle conflict. Great

This show is addicting, but it would be nice to have some payoff to all the built up suspense, just a little payoff, please . . .

I did love the "Steve's dead." "Dude, that's Scott." part

I'm not sure what I think at this moment of the show.. I'm starting to feel as if I'm continually being strung along.. Not because there's this revolutionary ending in sight... Just because it is profitable to pricktease. It is difficult to maintain a level of excellence like this in a TV series because of the uncertainty of how long you can string people along, keeping them interested in your story without giving away the ending.
TV exec's see the success of the show and want to milk the story for a long, successful run. The problem is you can't keep viewers hanging forever. They want some finality, eventually.

This scenario played out with Twin Peaks. The pilot episode of Twin Peaks was the best television I've ever seen. The first season was outstanding viewing. But David Lynch tried to stretch his success and drag the mystery out forever. Problem was, he got off his main storyline and dabbled so much in peripheral stories, that the show lost its edge and was fading badly by the end. I fear the same fate for LOST, but I can hope for better (ah, the old fear/hope thing again...).

Agreed. It seems like just when we might get a bit of new information, something else happens, which is fine at times, but in order to keep things mysterious, you also need to drop more clues in. Otherwise, what fun would it be?

Yea...these last couple episodes have not really interested me as much. I didn't like how they jumped back on to Charlie's story, I was hoping for someone elses. Personally I really don't like Charlie that much and the fact that he killed Ethan just makes me dislike him even more. What a dumb move....

Hope next weeks is better.

I'm glad Charlie killed Ethan..

Yes, this show needs to start moving plot-wise.

But, unfortunately, you're right. Nothing like good ratings to kill a good show. Maybe if we all stopped watching and waited for the DVDs...

The second season of Twin Peaks fucked with my head bigtime. Really scared the shit out of me.

Yeah, this episode was really kind of a cop-out. I'm still hooked, but what a way to drag things out. Give the girl amnesia and shoot the villain!

But where did Charlie learn to shoot like that? I know its a 9mm and probably not too difficult, especially if you're angry, but that was some Tarantino action.

I would have given a gun to Kate the bank robber rather than Sawyer, who couldn't even off a dying man properly.

Did anyone catch "The Office" reference?

That girl Charlie was trying to rob, she said her dad was probably off "buying a paper company in Slough."

This lists the episodes that are known to be left:

I liked the fact that Locke used to work for Initech.
