Coldplay need to learn how to rock out more. However I feel that if they do, it might suck.

I don't get where people make the Radiohead/ Coldplay comparisons. Radiohead doesn't make pop music and Coldplay is a cup of melancholy with a couple cubes of happy mixed in. Also They don't use blips and studio tricks as much in their music.

Is Clocks the one where he's playing the piano and it looks like you can see the edges of the film?

(I mean the vid. I don't listen to the radio very often. )

Probly.. I know there's a piano in it. I used to like a little when it first came out but its just too overplayed I cant stand it anymore.

Exactly. The bands I like, I like them because I can connect with their music in some way, shape, or form-it means something to me. The hype they get isn't what draws me in.

I personally don't mind Coldplay's music-in fact, I'm checking out some of their other stuff. Yeah, the music's slow, but it's good chill-out music, I think.

That being said, I totally respect the fact that some of you don't care for them. You've got your reasons why, and that's fine. . To each their own.

I like the band and think they've got great potential. But IMO they're not anywhere as good as they're widely claimed to be, not yet.

Why do radios always have to go over the top and play good songs every 5mins so that you end up being sick of them!

The amount of times Clocks is played is just stupid!!!

I didn't want to put it that way but I can't disagree

I know the feeling.

It's not just because they're slow that I dislike them. I like a lot of slow stuff. But this isn't any good, and as I said with DMB, a voice that sucks that badly can ruin any song, and Martin's grates on my nerves and sounds like crap to me. Yes, they look like pussies and are very, very ugly and creepy looking. The way Chris looks when he's getting down on that piano grosses me out so bad!

It also has bothered me that people who rag on U2 for getting slow hold Coldplay up as some kind of example of how rock should be, and it isn't even rock, and U2 at their age still rock harder than this. They are piano based! That's not a bad thing if the music doesn't suck, but theirs does IMO. People have said they have something to say? Have you read the lyrics to Yellow and Clocks? That's important and profound? I've heard boy band songs with more meaningful lyrics, and I can't stand them either.

Like I said before, I think my intense dislike for this band has grown from the overglorification of them, especially on this board, and the fact that they are overrated and not worthy of so much praise and being compared to U2!! If it weren't for that, they'd be just any other butt ugly, boring band I never think twice about.

Yes, Shaun Vox and U2Kitten have a very intelligent way of expressing themselves!

Nothing conveys messages better than using terms like "pussies!"

And making appearances such an important factor in liking a band, while getting angry and defensive in other threads when a member of U2's appearance is criticized.

I love the constructive criticism on Interference! It reminds me why I keep coming back here less and less.
