Just bumping this up. I'm pretty new to guitar too and would like to see what people suggest.

Walk On isn't too hard. The verse and chorus are D A G Em. Repeat. Listen to the CD to get a sense of timing.

One: The verse is Am D Fmaj7 G. Chorus is C Am Fmaj7 C.

I'm not sure why Stairway is a "must" practice. Probably because it's a classic.

All I Want Is You only takes 3 chords and is quite simple to play and sing along with. Running to Stand Still is also quite simple and a lot of fun (especially if you have a harmonica). Staring at the Sun has a few more chords but is another good one you could pick up.

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet I tried Desire a few times but it sounds cracked out. Maybe I had it wrong

One is very easy, especially if you have heard the U2/REM acoustic version, 4 chords. Also Stand By Me is a breeze.

Rock on baby!!!!!!!
