i just rented it from netflix. i added this so long ago and am finally getting to stuff i added to my queue...i think a year and a half ago...i don't even remember if i saw multiple versions.

The final cut was released late last year and is the definitive version of the film.
If you don't have that, then I guess the Director's Cut will have to do.

No, it was the 1992 season, by Michael Angelis. I understand Carlin only narrated the versions re-narrated for the American market (because apparently American children would get confused by the British narration, despite the fact children everywhere else don't).

Yeah, me too. It was years before I knew that the awesome Thomas guy was also a Beatle.
Though when I was little, I thought the Beatles were some pathetic hack band for children, and by the time I was five, I was "far too grown up" for silly songs like Yellow Submarine.
