Hello,

I don't think I'm going to make any. I have Phil Spector's Christmas album (which is almost the perfect Christmas album) and yesterday I got two Bruce Springsteen X-mixes in the mail. :)

C ya!

Marty (who has to say the posted mixes look good though  )

Yay!!

I don't have the Beatles' Christmas Time is Here Again on CD...it's on a tape that's buried in my room somewhere. I taped it off our oldies station on xmas day many, many years ago :)

Ooh, glad to see the Tom Petty song on a list!.

I had a Christmas CD I'd made last year, but I can't find it anywhere, so I might just make me a new one. An idea of what I'd have on it would be:

Tom Petty-"Christmas All Over Again"
John Lennon-"Happy Xmas (War Is Over)"
U2-"Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)"
Band Aid-"Do They Know It's Christmas?"
Dan Fogelberg-"Same Old Lang Syne"
Bing Crosby-"White Christmas"
Eagles-"Please Come Home For Christmas"
Trans-Siberian Orchestra-"Christmas Eve Sarajevo"
Elvis Presley-"Blue Christmas"

And perhaps the Grinch song and Bob Rivers' "Twelve Pains Of Christmas" song.

Angela

I have several tapes with Christmas songs on them. If I were to make one, with all my favorites, this would be it:

1) Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Christmas in Sarajevo 12/24
2) Paul McCartney - Wonderful Christmas Time
3) John Lennon - Happy Christmas (War is Over)
4) U2 - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
5) Mannheim Steamroller - O Come All Ye Faithful
6) Stevie Nicks - Silent Night
7) Peanuts - Hark The Herald Angels Sing
8) Eurthymics - Winter Wonderland
9) - ? - - Little Drummer Boy (Its the version everyone has heard)
10) Dave Matthews - Christmas Song
11) Enya - O?che Chi?n (Silent Night)
12) Josh Groban - O Holy Night

There's another one, a piano song of Christmas medlies, I don't know who its by. But it has "Merry, Merry Christmas" and "Silver Bells" in it. Anyway, I'll have that on the list

there's a song I heard yesterday (actually I was watching MTV, but it was the alternative showcase programme so I rest my case) called 'She Came Home For Christmas'. I thought it was quite good. It's by a band called Mew, they're Danish I believe, and they sound quite a lot like Coldplay.

This is a short one but I find every song here quite listenable:

1. The Little Drum Machine Boy ? Beck
2. I Won?t Be Home For Christmas ? Blink 182
3. River ? Travis
4. Merry Christmas Everybody ? Rooney
5. My December (live) ? Linkin Park
6. Silent Night - Lisa Hannigan
7. Mele Kalikimaka ? Nick Hexum from 311
8. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas ? Coldplay
9. Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer ? Poe
10. Christmastime Is Here (live) ? Stone Temple Pilots
11. Someday at Christmas ? Remy Zero
12. White Christmas ? Flaming Lips
13. Twas the Night ? Snoop Dogg

nice.
very very nice!
you gotta check out Cornell's Ave Marie.
Damn.
:yell: I missed you on Friday :yell:
:D glad to see you put PJ on there. I didn't think you were a fan

i tried to download that, but i couldn't get it...too many people in queue, and then soulseek crashed. i got annoyed and cursed at it for doing that, because chris cornell rules.

i like pearl jam quite a bit...not as knowledgable as far as b-sides and other non-album tracks go, as i would like to be, but i like them a lot.

well i have "A very special xmas #3" and well well...Chris Cornell is on there among others, and it's most def. a keeper.
in any case..if u get the chance...check that song out because if there's one song that makes me cry everytime- it's Ave Marie...and well well...Chris is wonderful.
I'm not much of a Soundgarden fan...but I'm a fan of Chris...he does have a huge range and is a remarkably gifted singer.

PJ is worth looking into. Bsides and all.
I would recommend Lost Dogs to start. Sadly it doesn't cover all the Bside gems but it's a start.

They bring me up like the Clash do. They make me smile.

They do a mean live version of "Know Your Rights".
I also experienced in Seattle exactly a year ago to this day, a live Ramones cover of "Don't Believe in Christmas". :hyper:

Add that one to your mix, babe.

They were awesome live. I dunno how many times I've seen them live now(should be around 18 or so)...but just on the past tour I saw them 8 times. :faint:

btw....I was in Toronto last Fri. night....and nowhere near a computer.
Hopefully I will get to tune into you this Fri. I really enjoyed your show, babe.

yeah i've heard them do "know your rightS"...very cool stuff. got it on a boot somewhere...can't remember what...no i think headache sent the song to me. very cool though.

i like soundgarden, i was pretty impressed with euphoria morning cornell's solo album (and dissappointed in audioslave, but that was because it was overhyped rather than anything to do with his singing).

lost dogs has "down" on it right? i would seriously consider spending the money i shouldn't be spending on it just because of that song...it would probably make more sense to purchase the i am mine single...but yeah...i should really get that. i've got a sampler that we got at the radio station that the music director didn't think we needed to log into the stacks, so she gave it to me...it's got a few things on it...alone, sad, wash, ledbetter, fatal, and the ubiquitious last kiss (i never liked the original, and that song almost made me hate pj)

wow. fucking COOL!!!

last week some guy came down the the studio to complain i talk too much on the air...moron...i should play some pearl jam on my show...i don't think i've played them since i forgot about the 'surrounding bullshit' line in 'off he goes' :shifty:...what i really need to do is replace my copy of vs....cos it melted at work when i left it in the sun

now that i've thrown this thread off course....um.....jingle bells jingle bells...
