LM...please don't vote for the Ocean, it's too good to go just yet.

I'm going with The Song Remains the Same, here.

Oh man, I fucking love TSRTS. Page is a madman on that song. :(

No, you're right, he really is.

It was down between that and Dancing Days for me.

But the Ocean has a sort of special context for me. It was one of the first Zeppelin songs where, when I listened to it, it clicked. I realized "Oh yeah, THAT'S why they're such a famous band."

These set of lyrics especially...

Sitting round singing songs 'til the night turns into day
Used to sing on the mountains but the mountains washed away
Now I'm singing all my songs to the girl who won my heart
She is only three years old and its a real fine way to start...

...and then. of course, Plant's "Oh so gooooood" at the very end.

There's a couple I could choose, but I'll go with Dancing Days, just to try and balance up and stop TSRTS going.

I'm quite stunned to see TSRTS has so many votes, along with the Rain Song and No Quarter even having any.

Song Remains The Same, Rain Song and Over the Hills are 3 of my favorite Zep tunes.

No Qurater this round. It's a great tune, but too much bullshit in there. But the riff is fucking top notch when he finally gets to it.

Jimmy Page - best "riffer guy" ever? Discuss!

I say..."Yes, no contest." Hendrix had a few great ones, Clapton had a couple, Aerosmith, Slash, as well. But Page is #1 with Keith Richards a distant second.

Jimmy Page - best "riffer guy" ever? Discuss!

Yes. Most likely the best.

His influence on the generation of guitar players today is unspoken and incredible. When young kids go online to look up "guitar tabs" they, more often than not, will go and look up a Jimmy Page riff or guitar line.

His work is classic and undying.
