If we didn't already scare her off, the explanation of my joke just might!

Basically, Norwegian black metal band Mayhem had a vocalist called Dead and a guitarist called Euronymous. Dead, uh, committed suicide. The knife didn't work so he blew his head off with a shotgun and left a note simply saying "sorry for all the blood". Euronymous found his body, and did what all normal people do - he ran to the shop, bought a camera, and took photos. One of these photos later appeared as the cover of a Mayhem bootleg, Dawn Of The Black Hearts.

"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

Ack. Well, hopefully you'll be able to finish it quicker if your brain's rested... good luck with it!

Oh, being bored out of my mind by an old professor who shouldn't be in front of a class anymore. And, waiting for my registration window to open up so I can register for next year's classes.

I wonder if I'm going to listen to any other band for the next few days.

Well, actually, I have listened to a few tracks by Wellingtonian band This Will Kill That this evening. But otherwise, it's been a huge PTfest.

I recommend Stupid Dream.

By the way - not sure if I've already given you Even Less. I cut it from the CD I gave you to save space, as the full 14 minute Even Less is on Recordings. The version on Stupid Dream is the opening track and is only 7 or so minutes long.

I've got Pop in my car at the moment. It will probably stay there for a while...

I'd go with Stupid Dream as well.

Not sure what else you've heard. I think I saw you mention Fear and In Absentia, so if that's it so far, I'd add Deadwing, too.

Yeah, I knew I'd mentioned it once in these threads already, but I'd no idea who was around then. Some of the stories of the Norwegian black metal scene of the early nineties are truly FUCKED UP.

Euronymous, incidentally, was murdered by bandmate Count Grishnackh. Meanwhile, one member of Emperor was convicted of murdering a homosexual guy, numerous black metallers burnt down churches, and I believe there was one who was charged with murdering some homeless bloke ...

Oh, Pop...I haven't listened to the full album in quite awhile.

I've been stuck on Radiohead lately, mostly OK Computer.

I did get Even Less before, yeah.

Erk, I'd better reassemble these albums... I've got some of the songs in the sampler folders and some in the album folders...

I had a guy like that last year. He was a really nice guy and I liked talking to him after the lectures, but he'd go on the weirdest tangents, all in this droning monotone that half the time sent me to sleep ...
