Knocked Up

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

The audience didn't appreciate it as much as my friend and I did. At times when we laughed, no one else in the theatre did. When they actually did laugh, we were laughing harder. I don't get it.

:eyebrow: That's strange. The audience I was with was packed out and laughed non-stop for almost the entire time. People were clapping in certain parts. For your audience, I guess someone should let them know it's always a brilliant idea to go see a comedy if you don't have a sense of humor!

I saw a free advanced screening a couple of days ago, and I honestly I liked it a lot more than 40 Year Old Virgin. I might end up seeing it again since I couldn't hear most of the lines following funny scenes because the audience was laughing so hard. The Cirque De Soleil shroom trip in Vegas followed by the chair scene... oh man, I couldn't breathe.

It was great to see most of the Freaks and Geeks crew reunited again. The running gag about Martin Starr's beard was hilarious.

Has anyone seen the deleted scene?

I think I might have to go see this tomorrow morning. ($5 tickets for shows before noon!)

The chair scene is my favorite. The first glimpse of Paul Rudd with the chairs was so perfect. I was laughing before he even said anything.

I will see this movie again in the theater. I'm amazed at how funny it was.

I think it is reasonable that movies appeal to different groups of people differently.

The most desirable box office is the 15 - 25 year olds and a film that will bring in both males and females is the hot ticket.

This film does that
as does spiderman 3 and Pirates.

so they all do big box office.

I am not in that demographic
and the friend I went with is 34.

We both did not think much of the film.

I give it a C- or 5/10.

I enjoyed 40 yr old virgin much more.

My friend thought all the male characters were just a bunch of losers
and did not buy for one minute that a successful E reporter would want a relationship with the character Seth Cohen was portraying.

I believed the whole thing. You can't predict the rules of attraction. I know successful friends both male and female that got together with such so called losers and they're great couples today. And I have a bunch of friends that were complete stoners in their 20s and we're going nowhere and now...they're extremely successful....and some are still complete stoners.

Oh man, I just got back from this, and it was great! I really love all the "frat pack" movies, and yes, I do realize this really wasn't technically another one, since Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen aren't exactly in the "pack" but still, I went to see it because those two were amazing in 40-year-old virgin, and I love Paul Rudd in general. And it was great, I went right after work because I got a free ticket with 4YOV, and there was no one in the theater but two other people, so I felt really awkward everytime I laughed, but luckily the other two people kept laughing at the same time I did so it all worked out...rambling aside, it was great, it wasn't all laughing, and there really was a good, what I believed to be believable story line behind it, and it just seemed to work well

I thought it was pretty hilarious. My initial reaction was that I laughed more, and harder in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, but now I have to see that again and see if that's the case.

We had a pretty rowdy, participatory audience, and I missed a lot of follow-up lines due to loud laughter ... including from my friend, who had no idea what to expect going into the film and has not yet seen The 40-Year-Old Virgin. He loved Knocked Up, so I told him to put the other flick at the top of his Netflix queue toot de suite!

I loved it and feel the same way.

I have to see it again, the audience laughed so hard that I couldn't hear a lot of the lines.

And the audience consisted of about 15 people total.

This is going to join my DVD collection, fo sho.

I was wondering how they did that...

tmz.com

"The title of the hit movie "Knocked Up" suggests that Katherine Heigl's character is going to give birth, and boy does she ever! If you haven't yet seen the comedy, sorry to spoil it for ya, but there are multiple shots of a baby popping out ... with the camera right there between mom's legs. Or was it?

TMZ put its detective cap on to find out how "Knocked Up" writer/director Judd Apatow created this graphic scene and still managed to get an R Rating. We spoke with Larry of Honey's Place (an adult novelty distributor often called the "Costco of the porn industry") who believes the scene could have been created with special effects. Larry told us "We have vaginas in our warehouse. (Holy moly!) Manufacturers like Doc Johnson take a real porn star and make a latex mold of the body -- and they are pretty lifelike." Gee. Larry doesn't pussyfoot around.

Linda Teglovic, agent/owner of Body Parts Models says it's a tough job. "I would have a hard time finding a girl to do that," adding she has never seen a request for a "vagina double" on any breakdowns (casting call lists) that she's seen. But then again, anything's possible.

The New York Times Magazine reported in May that "The Devil Wears Prada" star Anne Hathaway was originally cast in "Knocked Up," but pulled out because she had problems with the vagina. Apatow told the Times "Hathaway dropped out of the film because she didn't want to allow us to use real footage of a woman giving birth to create the illusion that she is giving birth."

The MPAA wouldn't return our calls and Apatow was unreachable. Our best guess, culled from these snatches of information, is that "Knocked Up" used a stunt vagina."

wow, tmz is just so funny

the person I went with said
"Did they just show a vagina?"

I said, "No, they showed a birth canal"

Men tend to like looking at one
and prefer to avoid the other.

man i saw this last night and it is one of the best movies this year . absolutley loved it and PMSL the whole way through it .

the chairs :lmao:
the birth scene is amazing too !

Damn I just spent like 10 minutes reading this entire thread to mention the U2 poster.

Probably the best movie I have seen all summer, but I am a chump for any movie that is endlessly quotable.

"You look like Robin Williams knuckels"

I didn't find the chairs scene that funny, maybe when Paul Rudd was shoving his fist in his mouth, but other than that, eh.

I'm saving money for the DVD already.
