It's not my favourite on the album, quite far from it but I NEVER skip it.

4th Of July really does sound sensational between Promenade and Bad. Leads fantastically into the opening of Bad. Sure, Bass Trap probably would have been an even better choice, but this is still great and really helps the album's cohesiveness.
