Righto, folks, welcome ... to the Unforgettable Fire.

:hits play:

And you know it's time to go
Through the sleet and driving snow
Across the fields of mourning
Lights in the distance
And you hunger for the time
Time to heal, desire time
And your earth moves beneath your own dream landscape

God, I love those lyrics so much.

Fuck, I love this entire song so much. Who doesn't? Point them out to me, so that I may kill them.

It's awesome, but TUF is better.

AND WE LIVE BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD
ON THE SIDE OF A HILL
AS THE VALLEYS EXPLODE
DISCOLATED, SUFFOCATED
THE LAND GROWS WEARY OF ITS OWN.

No, I agree. My top five U2 songs:

1. One Tree Hill
2. Bad
3. The Unforgettable Fire
4. Heartland
5. A Sort Of Homecoming

screen door slams
Mary's dress waves
Like a vision she dances across the porch
as the radio plays
Roy Orbison singing for the lonely
Hey that's me and I want you only
Don't turn me home again
I just can't face myself alone again
Don't run back inside
Darlin' you know just what I'm here for
So you're scared and you're thinking
That maybe we ain't that young anymore
Show a little faith
There's magic in the night
You ain't a beauty but eh you're all right
And that's all right with me.

Tonight! We'll build a bridge across the sea and land
See the sky, the burning rain
She will die and live again
TOOOONIIIIIIIGHT!

lalalalalalalala lady with the spinning head

I was playing this song on the stereo during a road trip once, and before it even got to the vocals, people were like "omg this song is awesome, who is it by?" and I was all like "U2! :D"
