Toulouse along the way
The spark that set the flame

Bono, quoting geography. The guy's a genius.

I've never understood why ISS is so underrated here. It seems like a natural partner to Wire to me, and atmospherically something of a hint of what was to come with Bullet's darkness and intensity.

"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

Comments: The First Time is played in full for the first time ever. Discotheque is played for the second and final time on the Vertigo Tour. Walk On makes its Vertigo Tour debut; it is performed acoustically and Bono forgets the lyrics.
FUCK! You got the definitive version of The Electric Co! I've heard no performance better.

Black flash of my own love
Tell me open my eyes
Black flash come through my own life
Telling me to sing
And I believe in him
And I believe in you
Black flash sees the sky
And it turns inside from you
She won’t turn my back
And I know her tears are blue

And you know
And your sky is fading blue
And your heart – so cold when I’m with you
And you feel like no one told you to
And your time is on side
And you’ll talk with me – oh don’t talk to me
Oh, don’t talk to me, don’t talk to me

OH, THIS REMINDS ME.

One of my lecturers "snippeted" that!

He was making some remark, I forget exactly, but I think it was along the lines of "it doesn't matter whether you're in [this random location], [that random location], or the black hills of Dakota, really."

GOTHENBURG. If memory serves correctly, anyway. Will check once UF is done.

But that show does have the definitive Discotheque and possibly definitive Fly.

You know and though no one told you so
And you know
The sky – like a heart in shades of blue
And you walk when you want to let go
We live on the outside
Turn away
Fade away
Drop me down but don’t break me
If you can’t stay
