Kazaa is CURSED! Cursed I tell you!

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

I've downloaded about five songs that play for a second then fade into silence for the remainder of the song. These things are shared by loads of people and have extremely quick download speeds, and the file sizes and everything are OK. I think it's a voodoo plot.

I guess I'll use Soulseek then, I'm starting to get the hang of it...

Actually I'm using Kazaa-lite, which is supposed to screen out viruses and stuff. But still, I'm so tired of downloading something and being all excited about the speed of it and it turns out to be silence and more silence.

I've use Kazaa lite instead of Kazaa. I'm not sure if I like it. Some of the songs are labelled wrong or incomplete so I rarely use it.

I love WinMx. It's a little slower in terms of download time, and if you have dial up then it could take forever to get stuff, but it's just been so much better for me than Kazaa has. I've used WinMx for a long time and I only checked out Kazaa Lite cause so many people post that they use it. I think WinMx is better.

Kazaa-lite is great if you're trying to download things that have been out for a little while. You can usually find tons of sources and get great download times.

If you're ever looking for unreleased or new things, you get the 30 second clips/fake versions all the time. It's quite annoying. I use Soulseek for that kind of stuff.

Hmm...that could explain it then. I was getting the new Blur song and some Richard Ashcroft that was labelled as 'advance', even though it's probably been two months since it's been out.

I'm trying to get some Everything But the Girl but so far, no luck. Soulseek gave me ten measly results and Kazaa's q'ing me or giving me crap times.

Zactly. Also, some of the more obscure stuff is hard or impossible to find on Kazaa. Again, Soulseek is great for that.

I personally prefer Kazaa Lite over Winmx. I found Winmx only to be good for mainstream music.

I found pretty much everything I need so far with Kazaa, and the download time alone is worth it!

Not if you're getting speeds of 0.76 k and 22 results an album.

Soulseek takes forever to search for me, and in the end only comes up with few available results (the rest are usually grayed out).

I think I need to go to bed. Goodnight (morning) everyone.

EDIT: I used Audiogalaxy in the last month before it shut down. Excellent service, and I really wish I could have exploited it further.

WinMx has every live U2 song I have ever looked for, including some rare videos. Aside from a song here or there by other bands, that's really all I ever download. I've harldy found any live U2 stuff that I want on Kazaa lite.

But I agree, the download time on Kazaa lite is worth it, which is why I continue to use it when I'm looking for a song other than a live U2 song.

You don't already have all of U2's stuff? :sexywink:

i think the real question is which has the greatest selection of porn

:shifty:

I had the same problem with Richard Ashcroft, Yertle. :( I have the album now, though, so if you haven't been able to download it by the time you read this, PM me, and I'll upload the tracks and you can try to get them from me through Kazaa. :)

First off, the only difference between Kazaa and Kazaa Lite is that Lite took out all the ads and spyware. It doesn't block viruses. If you have a good antivirus scanner, it should detect it while downloading (Sophos is great).

Secondly, bad files are purposely being thrown in by the music industry with the intent of frustrating you enough to stop using it.

kazzaa can kiss my ass! that damn program has screwed up my computer so bad! bastards!

lol yes i am a little mad at it.

AGHHHH!! YES!!

So true, so true. Kazaa fucked my computer so badly. I need to get the entire thing reformatted, but can't afford to do so until school ends (a month away). I still use Kazaa lite now, only because at this point, my computer is so killed it doesn't matter. Besides, I have a slow connection speed and Kazaa gets me stuff much faster than WinMx.

How do you know if you are downloading a virus? I only download mp3's.......

My computer will download anything but if there's a virus the little virus scan thingy comes up saying the file has a virus and it won't open it and it asks if I want to have the file deleted. I've only seen it a few times and never from kazaa or winmx.

kazaa tried to eat my computer on multiple occasions. kazaa-lite however, is my friend

winmx frove the computer when i tried to load it, and soulseek refused to load too

Some advice:
After I start downloading a song on Kazaa, I let it get to about 1,000 KB. Then I push the play button while it's downloading. It takes a few seconds, but it will play what has been downloaded so far. That way I can tell if it's the real deal or fake. It's worked pretty good for me so far.

Napster...
me too!!! i found EVERYTHING on that program. i loved it so much. see, back then everyone was on napster. there were no alternatives, which was fine because you could get lightning speed stuff. now that it's shut down, everyone's splintered off. some people use winmx, some use kazaa/kazaa lite, some use soulseek, some use DC++, some use IRC, and some use FTP. so it's a lot harder to find that rare stuff, that person on a T1 modem with that rare demo or live song you want, ripped at such an amazing quality. (often times i find rare stuff i want now, but it's been ripped at like 96 mbps or something which is just pathetic.)

btw, melon, don't kazaa and kazaa lite use the same networks? meaning like, you could be on kazaa lite and downloading something from someone who's using kazaa?

i never got to use napster cos i was still living at home and my mom thought it was evil :madspit:

Same P2P network. I think FileShare and Grokster use it as well. Morpheus used to.

Kazaa Lite is just a hack to use Kazaa without downloading the official release with the ads and spyware.

i use kazaa lite. one night i was trying to find a filter song and i thought i had it.. all the sudden it started downloading SUPER FAST. which i found mind boggling since i am on dial up. but somehow i got the 3 megs in a like 4 minutes.

so i played it and all the sudden i hear these chimes.. some weird music and the strains of a BOY BAND ALL SINGING TOGETHER AT ONCE.

oh my god. picture a boy band with blonde hair, unbuttoned shirts, standing in rain or something and that's how the song sounded, but looked in my head.
