Joan Rivers Jokes About 9/11 Victims

Controversial comedienne Joan Rivers has stunned British audiences by mocking the relatives of firefighters killed in the September 11 terrorist attacks. Rivers recently unveiled her new stand-up show Broke And Alone In London, but the British audience were left stunned when the American made fun of widows, whose firefighting husbands were killed in the attacks on New York and Washington DC. An audience member says, "She said that they got paid $5 million each, and how disappointed they'd be if they were told, after all, that their husbands had been found alive." Despite the controversy, Joan's spokesman insists that she, boldly, plans to continue to use the joke when she takes her show to America later this year.

OMG-that makes me ILL. And no one should go see her lame ass act either. I hope and pray it will be a colossal flop.

The boundaries don't even exist anymore-anything is fair game for some people, I guess. How DARE she??? She should go get her face hauled up again instead of resorting to this to get attention.

That stupid c*nt is a HORRIBLE person. Gina Marie is so right about no boundries. Is anything fair game as long as someone laughs? I can't believe that the E channel continues to let her open that sewer she calls a mouth everytime an awards show comes on. Love the pics Sicy but you made her look too good.

Ta ta!

that makes me have that horrible feeling in my gut--the one that comes with utter embarasment for a fellow human. i can't believe that.

she took cashing in on the tragedy to a whole new, and most ugly level.

shame on her.

Holy f'n shit. that woman makes me sick. She and her daughter, both.

If she stood close enough to a heater, she'd freakin' melt.

I can't believe she has sunk so low as to poke fun at people who have lost their loved ones in a major tragedy. Oh, wait. We're talking about Joan Rivers. Yeah, she would say something like that. She loves to be the center of attention and doing this little bit in America will surely put in that spot. Even if it *is* bad press.

What Charlene said: what a c*nt. I hate that word, but boy, does it describe Joan. Blech.

I'll bet she wouldn't be singing the same tune if she lost someone from her family in that tragedy. I don't know what would be worse: dealing with how she is now, or dealing with her after she's lost a loved one to a tragedy.

hee hee...twin said "utter" in the thread with joan as a cow...*easily amused*

Ok, to my real point. Eh yeah, I'd LOOOOVE to see her take that to America. Then I'd like to see if any police actually escort here anywhere ever again. Better yet, I'd love to see how long she lasts in a burning building in NYC or Washington D.C.

Come on wisdom tooth, don't fail me now!

LOL I love those pics of Joan, they really flatter her- make her look younger even!

I don't see how that's even acceptable as a joke in the joke book... first it's not funny, not because it's mean but because it's just NOT funny. Who was she creating that joke for?? Clearly no one shares the same comical taste as Joan. She should really consider not wearing make up and not getting her baggy face lifted and then do stand up, people wouldn't even need her to open her mouth- she'd be a hit without a word. They could play her segment on E and comedy central *where her face belongs* all the time.

I can't believe what i'm reading.

"they'd be dissapointed if their husbands would be found alive"

Tasteless is a mild word for this.

I wonder how long she will dare using this in US.

theres bad taste...and theres BAD taste.

Thats a bloody disgrace, everyone should boycott her show. she must be running short if she feels she has to use such offensive tasteless-indescribable actually- RUBBISH to get a bit of publicity.

I didn't find the "one-liner" to be extremely funny, but it made me nod my head up and down in an agreeing gesture. While I didn't think it funny, I don't think she deserves to be ridiculed based on the fact that she said it. Joan Rivers said something that everyone in the world has probably thought or at least considered..."If I lost a close relative and received $5 million from their trust fund or insurance company, would it really be that bad?" That's a lot of money, and while it would be hard to live without that person, the money would make the recoperation much more comfortable.

Again, some people in the forum aren't thinking with their heads. They're relying too much on their hearts. Not that it's a bad thing to do, but excessive behavior in any realm is unhealthy and unpractical.

Oh my God... i did *not* just read that. i sincerely hope that you are being sarcastic...

if not, then i guess you really don't know what it means to love someone.

because NO amount of money can make up for losing someone that you love.

Truth is offensive.
I'm morally opposed to rape, and I would never rape anyone, but I think, ultimately, it's up to the rapist and no one else.
