If you like sax solos, buy John Coltrane's A Love Supreme.

Sonny Rollins's Saxophone Colossus is also brilliant. Beyond the sax, I love Miles Davis's Kind of Blue. Chet Baker was a brilliant trumpet player, too, and also sings lovely ballads. Ella Fitzgerald is probably my favorite jazz vocalist, though. If you're interested in bebop (really fast-paced, highly improvised tunes), check out Dizzy Gillespie or Charlie Parker (AKA "Bird").

It's hard to really get into jazz, since there are so many choices. I've been slowly building up my collection for the last five years or so, but I know I still have a lot to learn.

I don't know many sax songs, but if you like piano jazz, check out Oscar Peterson, especially Hymn to Freedom. Amazing song.
