What the hell happened in the past year? People just discovered this damn card game existed?

Celebrity Poker
World Series of Poker
MacGyver's Poker w/o Cards
World Poker Challenge
The Muppets Play Poker

Stupid Party Poker.com commercials.

It's on Bravo, and Fox Sports, and ESPN all the fecking time.

enough with the poker.

It happens with everything.

remember when the "queer" guys had an eye for us.
and all those shows about cutting up peoples faces and sucking out their fat to make them pretty
and extreme house renovations galore.

poker is a hip thing right now, once eveyrone bets their lives away, itll pass. until then
-puts on some shades-
-pushes all his chips in- LET IT RIDE BABYYYY! :hyper:

Poker being considered a sport is retarded

bumping a sport like Basketball or Baseball to ESPN2 is even more retarded

Football can never be moved to another channel because of Poker, because it's the Sport of The Gods

:mad::mad::madspit::mad::mad:

they've done studies you know

60% of the time, those ads work everytime

Watching poker on TV would actually be ok if they didn't have profiles of the players and no announcers. And if they didn't edit out tons of hands.

my favourite bar here in town gets overtaken with stupid poker tournaments every weekend. half the place is taken up with long tables for these guys to play the bloody game

I can't stand card games, either playing them or watching them on TV.

I don't quite get it. Especially when people take games like that seriously, like my cousin. He was getting pissed because he was losing his own game of "scene it"

:der:

He's the head of his chess team, and math team.

But he needs to grow up a bit.......

^ and then he's getting all upset about me not wanting to stay around for poker

Yeah, I really am missing out :eyebrow:

I love poker!! I just started playing. I won 60 bucks the other night!

Yay poker!!!!!

Years ago our neighbors had a picnic/party and after eating people gathered around to play poker. My mum happened to mention that when play got boring she was apt to cheat. Oh. My. God. Dead silence. Everything stopped and everyone stared at her in utter horror. Apparently what to her was simply a game to them was deadly serious. I don't even think they were playing for money (because she wouldn't have played for money -- she figured life was enough of a gamble, she didn't want to gamble on a game). Go figure.

OMG RR I gave my son a poker set for Christmas.....each of his other 2 roommates also got poker sets! They've been having poker tournaments nightly for weeks (yea I can't wait for the grades from this last semester :uhoh:)....but I told my son to watch the Poker on TV and maybe pick up some pointers! He loves it!

The only poker that I would consider would be strip poker, with the right set of opponents.

But even then............

Poker's a great game, don't get me wrong

but on TV... ??? No, it's fun to play

love!
money! $$$
love!
money! $$$

The only reason I was likin' it on TV is because I was just barely learning how to play and it helped alot to watch the tournaments on TV before I decided to hit the casino.

 sicy, you went into a casino poker room?

i've lived in a gaming town for five years and never went into one. i've even had dealers who are patrons at the library where i work tell me they'd show me the proper table etiquitte and such, but i was still never brave enough to do it. it just seems too intimidating.

Well since I'm in California, its not really the same type of casino as in Nevada, but they do offer a large number of poker tables, as well as Century Blackjack ( :eyebrow: ) and pai gow and those kinds of games. Hold 'em is the same as in Nevada because you are not playing against the house right, you're playing against other people, but Blackjack is all weirded out because you cant play against the house (that's illegal here) so they make it so that the players take turns being the dealer.. its kinda weird so I never bothered to learn that one.

I was scared my first night... lol.. but Jim helped me and now we go a lot :uhoh: and are actually getting to know the dealers and the regular gamblers there
