Some interesting views indeed....

If you intuitively answer yes to the following questions Is sex cheating? and Is cybersex cheating? , can you therefore conclude that cybersex IS sex?

What IS sex exactly then? What is it NOT?

If cybersex is sex, then as someone mentioned earlier, can you lose your virginity online?

If cybersex is not sex, is it cheating?

If cybersex is only cheating if repeated with the same person presuming an emotional attachement/affair, would real life sex that is one-time with no emotional attachment be cheating?

cheating can be on an emotional and physical level. cybersex involves becoming emotionally involved with another person, therefore imo it is cheating, even if it's done only once.

sex is physical, therefore cybersex is not 'sex'.

Kinda...

Breaking out in almost exactly the proportions I had predicted but no and shades of gray are switched...thought more ppl who think no would be brave enough to vote if not try to defend their position, so...

Where are the rebels?

Chizip(?!?) has it right - if it's something I'm not comfortable doing with my husband seeing or knowing about (and vice-versa), it's cheating :tsk:

What if your husband and or you don't feel bad about it?

I say it can hardly be cheating if you can't even be sure of the sex of the other person.

If my boyfriend told me he was cybering with someone I would laugh my ass off, and tell him he had to get out more.

losing your virginity online is something i've never really thought about. i always thought it was just what bg said: masturbation with assistance. having cybersex is cheating if you feel that you can't discuss this with your real-life significant other. i'll go ahead and say this...my ex went as far as to cyber with some random girl while i was standing in front of the computer. this was when he had decided to leave me. he was being an insensitive prick at the time. he thought it was hilarious, the whole thing.

Hmmmmmmm. See that's not funny.

The way to look at this is to say that your ex is so sad he has to get it online with people who don't know what he looks like.

Yep, I'll echo a few sentiments here, IMHO the parameters of fidelity are best determined within the committed relationship. Yet I bet most couples make far too many assumptions about what is acceptable and what isn't.

Lots of happily married ppl are swingers yet others view a partner masturbating as a betrayal or failure of some sort. Who do you think is more secure in their relationship?

If my boyfriend told me he was cybering with someone I would laugh my ass off, and tell him he had to get out more.

Would it be ok then if he went to a nudie bar and got a lap dance?

Yes yes it would. I would also laugh at that. And hey - at least he'd be getting out then.

I'm not too threatened by strippers.

LOL...which would also give you time alone with the computer...:eyebrow: :sexywink:

Yeah, strip clubs don't bother me either and I still howl at my hubby's stories and pics (yes pics!) from his stag. I'm still under a gag order however to divulge details to his friends' partners.

Why do women hate strip clubs so much?

Dunno. Honestly. I find it hilarious, it's like "yeah guys she sure does like you - and your wallet." If the boys want to pay for boobies let em pay.

I chose shades of gray.

I think that it depends on the situation. If I were to find out that my boyfriend were having cyber sex with someone that he knew, or an ongoing cyber relationship then I would be very pissed and consider it cheating. However, if it were a totally random thing then I might not be upset. It's more like porn in that situation.

Also, keeping it a secret makes it a big difference. If they aren't being honest about it, then most likely they feel like they are doing something wrong, and that in itself makes it cheating. I would hope that any relationship that I am in would be open and honest enough that my so would feel comfortable talking to me about any thing of this sort.

However, all that being said, anything that is abused, be it random cyber sex, porn, strippers, etc. that gets in the way of the normal sex life within a relationship is a problem.

is phone sex cheating? is porn?

I agree.
I said no, female vote.

I can't believe anyone thinks masturbation is cheating! That is, quite frankly, absurd, IMO...

i don't hate strip clubs at all. one of my very good friends used to strip. it is really funny to hear the stories from strippers prospectives. i only hate the clubs if my boyfriend spends my money on a lap dance. actually i have friends who have taken their boyfriends or husbands to the strip clubs and bought them lap dances lol.

Yes, my boyfriend can do that. I would want to hear all about it.

What would you say if your boyfriend ceased being intimate with you, preferring to masturbate instead?

Its not about the action, it is how the action impacts the relationship.
