that's what i was thinking. i guess hoping would be a more appropriate word!

The Paramount is a cool venue though. A very old theater with chandaliers and stuff. There are seats in the balcony but the floor is usually GA for these types of shows.

I was looking up several of the venues and it looks as if many of them are lovely old places that seem like great places to see a concert. I doubt these are the shows I'd want to see at them though.

February 1: St. Charles, Mo. (Family Arena)

This place is not exactly a band's dream venue.

It holds under 7,000 and its basically the home of our minor league hockey team.

They hold a lot of car shows, bull-riding things, and I think Blue's Clues has a standing weekly performance there.

Vaguely.

I'm suprised you didn't think I was in Perth given my listed location.

I'm a ignorant teen, thus my interest.

They would fill the Metro... they filled it last time (I think) with Jon Stevens so they could do it again. Horden would be pushing it. Entertainment Centre wouldn't happen unless they had co-billing or excellent support (ala Powderfinger-JB3 double bill).

Am I the only one amused at the number of casinos they are playing? I always thought playing casinos was a sure sign that your career is over.

I am familiar with theatres, arenas and stadium sized venues around the US but these I've never heard of. Can I get some rough size estimates?

Also... the aren't coming to Austrlaia.
These are many of the same venues that INXS played on their last tour of the USA with Michael Hutchense back in 1997. Most of the shows on that last tour were not sold out and the Philadelphia Tower Theater(3,000 capacity) was only half full.

It will be interesting to see how many of these venues the band can sellout considering the exposure the show has generated is the most that INXS has received in the USA since at least 1990.

Just aheads up - we found at work today ( i work for a ticket agency) that INX$ (LOVE IT!!) are here in April - only venue that I overheard was "possibly" the Palais in Melbourne - so they will probably do the Enmore or maybe the Hordern in Sydney. Word is they may play at the Commonwealth Games - and a Music Bowl show was originally rumoured.

Thanks for the info.

Palais

That theatre from all reports is one of the best in Australia (on a par or slightly below Newcastle's Civic). They would be looking at a 2-3 night run you would think (which is par for acts like John Butler Trio, Joe Cocker, Finn Brothers etc)

If I would have a guess on the venue for Sydney it would be the 2-3 night stand at the State Theatre - basically because acts that use the Palais 8/10 play the ST.

Might go, depends who else comes out - on that note TNMP run over to the Australia 2005 thread and spill your guts.

January 27: Los Angeles (Gibson Amphitheatre)

Previously known as Universal Amphitheater. I hate all these corporations coming in an renaming places It's been Universal Amp. as long as I can remember, and to me, always will be. Located in Studio City, attached you Universal Studios / Citywalk. Estimated capacity about 5000-6000.

I will not be attending this show. I never got to see Inxs WITH Michael Hutchence, I'm definitely not paying to see the band without him.

As for Queen/Paul Rodgers, different story. I saw Queen on "The Game' tour. Great show! And I like Paul Rodgers, and will be in attendence at the Hollywood Bowl on 10/22. C'est la vie...

There's a very good reason this show was aimed at America, and this joke of a world tour features one piddly continent.

This new single isn't even fantastic. It's ok, mediocrity at it's usual best, but not worth fawning over.

Shame.
