They're a band from NYC. They sound very post-punk, kind of a mix between Joy Division and the Smiths, to put it simply. You can hear the song "NYC" at:

I've heard a lot about them... I almost bought their EP a few days back, but it was like 8 bucks for 3 songs. The review on Pitchfork was pretty glowing, so I'm starting to think about it.

Although I'm not big on Joy Division, and The Smiths only keep me interested for so long.
