If that's your way of bashing Pink Floyd, it's terribly lame.

oh GG, I need to show you a myspace comment conversation I had with this dumbass kid:

dumbass: pink floyd blows massive black penis, they are the worst band of all time
me: kiss your mother with that mouth? May the rock gods burn your house down.
dumbass: pink floyd puts me to sleep like i put ur mom to sleep last night and pink floyed should burn because of how much of a discrase they were to classic rock
me: different strokes for different folks.have fun with your good 'ol boy southern rawkkk, now that's real classic rawk.
dumbass: even the song on my myspace is better than pink floyd and i jsut put that up there for a joke and plus pink floyd is for pot heads example: comfortably numb
me:ah well you know me, I smoke tons of pot while listening to Floyd.

mmm, close-minded ignorance

OH MAN. I go bloody mental when stupid people bring up the "Pink Floyd is for potheads" myth. That thing haunted me throughout all my years at high school. Oh my God, look at her, she's wearing a Pink Floyd shirt, she must do drugs! I nearly stopped wearing my DSOTM shirt to school, the rumours got that bad. When people bring up that silly myth, I just feel like flipping them a rude hand gesture and walking away. It's not worth it.

Just one more reason to shun myspace.

That sucks about the pot thing, people just suck in general. :|

2/3 of the Floyd fans at my school are "Dark Side of the Wall"-ers.

Meaning they just buy the DSOTM shirt to look cool, and don't understand what I'm talking about when I try to talk to them about the band.

They're not as bad as "Ramones fans"

Heh, I can definitely sympathise! It seems that roughly 90% of all people who wear band shirts have absolutely no idea when it comes to said bands' music. In my experience at least. One guy came to school with a Radiohead shirt on one day, thinking he was so cool and indie. So I asked him what his favourite Radiohead album was and he said Paranoid Android. Same goes for most people who wear Pink Floyd shirts. One unfortunate soul I spoke to thought that DSOTM was their only album!

I think there should just be a test for buying band tees:

either sing one of their songs,
name two/three songs or one album,
or name one or two bandmembers.

My favorite was the one girl who told me her favorite Ramones song was London Calling

:lmao:

That's hilarious! And I agree. You should have some sort of basic knowledge of a band before you start wearing their shirts in public. Otherwise, you just look like a complete twat.

But anyway, it's interesting to look at these lists. :hmm: Lots of B&Cers have similar tastes.

I see U2 :p, Pink Floyd, R.E.M., Radiohead, and The Beatles making the Top 5.
