Interference Random Music Thread Part IX: Guys! THE PEEF DAWG!

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

Watched it too, and it was pretty funny to see him playing a bass and looking so dapper.

1B1L and I talked briefly about it a few pages ago. I think the album sucks. That may or may not have anything to do with the fact that I can't stand M. Ward and have grown out of anything Conor Oberst does.

He's the most likely candidate for an Obnoxious "Indie" Rocker to Hook Up with One of My Favorite Actresses.

Yeah, i probably won't go out of my way to listen to the album, but thought it was a pretty interesting performance. Jim James is a cool motherfucker, that's for sure. New MMJ album in 2010 pleese.

And, I still haven't listened to it, mostly based on that. Plus, I also can't fucking stand Oberst. Never understood the love for Bright Eyes. I do like some of what I've heard of M. Ward's stuff though.

I was bumping P.O.S. on the table this morning. Love his album from this year, Never Better.

One of my favorite verses of his comes up on "Low Light Low Life," which also has the rest of the Doomtree crew on it:

Dance to the rhetoric/ lean to the left they call me terrorish/
Rock with it/ dance fever got em peepin out the prints on the floor/True believers keep they eyes on the horizons/
Catch me sizing up the silent/ check the crooked grind/
Watch me 50/50 / deep the balance between the coping/
And the feeble mind/ I hope the broken folk rewind/
Nothing left for token jokers here/ skate off/we're doing fine

Plus, he makes cool videos when not too many rappers are still doing that...

As fall is here and winter is approaching, I think a good dose of Fleet Foxes is in order.

Somebody who came into our office yesterday while I was playing TV on the Radio mistook them for Fleet Foxes. Not quite sure how that happened, as they sound pretty different, but it cracked me up.

He sounds like an ass-backward hipster to me. You should've thrown something heavy at him.

You should get him into the Passionate Pits. Or the Grizzly Bears (the Eagle Department too). Or Sugar Rose. Or Animal Collection.

Seriously, just goof with the band name and suggest it to him.

Man, now I wish I remembered which of the 1,000 students he was. Thankfully, I get comments about my music quite often, and they're almost always something that's hilarious to me. Like, get this: the day the Beatles remasters came out, I bought and then put on Sgt. Pepper's at the office. A student came in, and I overheard her asking another student who the band was. One of the most famous rock albums of all time, and she had no idea what it was or who it was by. I died a lot inside that day.

That's a sad story.

And, if you asked her why she was not familiar with a Beatles album, her likely answer?

"That all happened before I was born"

Minnesota's not far from your stomping grounds, Elfer. Canadian Justice can still be served.

That is a sad excuse for any kind of ignorance.

I would have slapped her into last week at that point...

 There was very nearly some KNIFE CRIME at that point, let me tell you...

On the bright side, I just got a complement on having Panda Bear's Person Pitch playing right now.

So remember that Lights girl we were talking about?

Yeah, her. Well she's got the top downloaded album on What.cd right now. There are about to be a lot of disappointed people. Perhaps some vomit in there as well.
