Well, considering the movie's plot is supposedly not tied into the overall mythology of the show, it's hard to say what you would "need" to watch to prepare.

I would guess there's going to be references and a bit of wrap-up to at least explain what they've been doing since the series ended, but honestly, they'd be stupid to make the movie so that only folks who are familiar with the show could follow the plot.

But Mia is referencing a full 7 seasons of the show ... that's a bit much to have to watch in a month to prepare for something you probably don't need to prepare for.

Three fantastic rentals.

I absolutely loved the music in Once (and am so going to check out the soundtrack and/or more music by The Frames ASAP) but the rest felt very thin to me. There are so many more things I wish to know about the characters, and a sequel could answer those questions. It had its humorous moments, sad moments, etc. but it left me wanting. Not sure if I could give it a rating at this point because I'm quite conflicted about it. Parts I loved and parts I feel less than satisfied with. It'll definitely get another viewing.

Almost Famous is as awesome as ever on a proper screen. What a fucking amazing soundtrack. The whole film gives me goosebumps.

I'm Not There is next. I'll probably watch it tomorrow.

98. The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999)
99. The Blair Witch Project (1999)
100. South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut (1999)

I certainly can't argue about Pulp being at the top, but some of the placement in here is ridiculous. I liked a lot of the choices though.

Hmm...overall, I thought it was a good list, but Blair Witch Project making it over, say, Almost Famous is bullshit.

I was looking at that list earlier today.

Actually, EW has put out a number of different top 100 lists recently...one for books, albums, TV shows...and I actually think they've done a decent job with it.

The more I ponder it, the more I think that Pulp Fiction is completely deserving of the title of best and most important film of the last 25 years.

Oh and I'm loving the inclusion of SPEED at number 40. Good call.

Say what you will about Best Picture winners Forrest Gump, Braveheart, and Shakespeare in Love...but the fact that NONE of those three are in the top 100 is bullshit. Especially SIL.

Scream should be on the list somewhere.

No Lebowski? seriously?

Choosing The Incredibles over Finding Nemo is a fucking travesty.

I like that the Matrix and Die Hard are up near the top.

Oh, and quickly, some of the movies that should NOT be on that list but are include:

Napoleon Dynamite

Let me get this straight:

Napoleon Dynamite gets ranked above Back To The Future, Shrek is ranked all the way at #25 while Gladiator, Terminator 2, No Country For Old Men, The Truman Show, Children Of Men, Eternal Sunshine, and There Will Be Blood among others are way behind it and American History X, Forrest Gump, Return Of The Jedi, and High Fidelity don't even make the list?

I'll give it this: They have Titanic at #3. Too often that film doesn't get the respect it deserves.

All of this is truth.

I find Napoleon Dynamite hilarious, so I don't mind it making the list at all. Again, the fucking Blair Witch Project beat out Forrest Gump. That's the real travesty.

And wow, maybe it's the perpetual hard-on that I have for these three films that blinded me from not noticing it before but...

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Return of the Jedi
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Yup, those should all be on there.

Also, namkcur, I agree that Titanic deserves to be up there. I don't mind it at number 3 at all to be honest.

And Back to the Future should be higher up....

1.21 gigawats!!!!!!!!

OH MY - I totally forgot about the Indy movies. Raiders is the best one.

And I agree that Blair Witch was fucking scary but I don't think it should be in any sort of top 100 list.

I don't know. I like lists like these, though...they get me to actually sit down and think about all the movies I've seen. It's fun.

My friend loaned me the Anthology dvds so I can watch them all before the new movie comes out. That preview was the shit. I've always meant to get around to watching all of the episodes, but now there's just not enough time, so watching all of the main storyline will have to suffice

Wow, I can't give that list any credibility whatsoever. No American Beauty?  I'm sure I'm probably alone in that sentiment, but the lack of Indy is unforgivable.

Oh, man, I forgot that one as well. That list was pretty bad, after some analysis.

Yeah, wow, I forgot about that too.

American Beauty just HAS to be on that list.

You said exactly what I was thinkin LM. The list sucks after some analysis.

Just off the top of my head, those are ones that have no business being anywhere near this list. And I actually like some of them. With further discrimination I'm sure I'd BOLD a bunch more too if I cared enough about a generic magazine ranking.
