If you weren't in the way, we'd have a better look at that girl in the red polka dot dress.

Bastard in a Classroom!

Seems like a winner.

Trust me, you're better off not seeing her.

Che is not getting universally good reviews. A lot of people have a problem with the running time, and have accused it of being a bit too formalized in its direction and not emotional enough.

I'm sure arrogant snobs like myself are going to love it, like Jesse James/Robert Ford, Malick's films, etc.

Soderbergh is not always golden

I have a very hard time ranking his films. I'd say at this point Traffic is his most impressive directorial achievment (something Che may eclipse), as he normally tries to subvert genre expectations and doesn't go for the grand gesture. You could easily make a case for Solaris being his best, as it probably has more of a heart than any other Soderbergh film, yet loses nothing on the technical or artistic side. And Sex, Lies, and Videotape is one of the definitive films of the 90's independent movement. There are others who feel his King of the Hill (featuring a young Adrien Brody) is his best, though unfortunately it has yet to be released on DVD. I'd also recommend Out of Sight, with Clooney and Jennifer Lopez in her best film performance to date.

They're all awesome, and they're all quite different.

Holy crap that poster!

My most anticipated movie this year, even if it is kind of a cheater (1994 after all), but it's now the only WKW I haven't seen, and it's killing me.

Cannes review of Synecdoche, New York.

A bit less enthusiastic than I would have hoped, but as I was reading I kept think it wounded a lot like the kind of critic reaction I'm Not There received (and we know what I feel about that movie), and funnily enough the review itself actual compared it to I'm Not There a bit later.

So that can only be a good thing in my eyes.

I've hyped up this guy's YouTube vids for a while, but you really have got to check them out, fellas:

YouTube - barringer82's Channel

The P.T. Anderson, Coens, Tarantino, Kubrick, and Burton ones are my faves.

Tarantino annouces Inglorious Bastards as his next film.

Fingers crossed he's not exaggerating too much here. Cannes 2009 seems unlikely but 2009 will still be great.

I would have said that the plot sounds like The Dirty Dozen but I was beaten to it in the first comment.
