Still looking for more ballots, people!! The INTERFERENCE Movie Awards will not be denied. The INTERFERENCE Movies Awards will not be ignored. Don't make us go fatal attraction on your asses.

All you have to do is pick one from each category.

Doesn't matter how many films you have or haven't seen...

Raymond Chandler was a writer of detective fiction whose style was so influential it spawned legions of imitators, and is considered a brilliant wordsmith surpassing any kind of genre label. He also spent a long and often frustrating amount of time in Hollywood, working with notable directors like Alfred Hitchcock and Billy Wilder, as well as having his own novels adapted for the screen, most famously with The Big Sleep starring Bogart and Bacall.

You can see his contempt for the film industry in his novels, but he also had a respect for the artists that struggled to make anything worthwhile in it. Below is a link to an article he wrote about the Academy Awards 60 years ago. It's insightful, funny, and strangely still appropriate to what goes on today.

Laz, I just posted an initial Godfather Part III review in the other thread. Go readz it.

Well the Razzies were a bit dull this year. Eddie Murphy won Worst Actor / Supporting Actor / Supporting Actress for Norbit, Daddy Day Camp won Worst Prequel or Sequel and I Know Who Killed Me picked up the rest.

Interesting to note that Mr Murphy won three more awards than he managed to last year.

The current cast for Oscar winner Martin Scorsese's next film, Shutter Island:

Leonardo DiCaprio (Oscar nominee)
Ben Kingsley (Oscar winner)
Mark Ruffalo
Michelle Williams (Oscar nominee)
Patricia Clarkson (Oscar nominee)
Max Von Sydow!!! (Oscar nominee)
Jackie Earle Haley (Oscar nominee)
Emily Mortimer

Wow.

I haven't seen any of Jackie Earle Haley's recent stuff, but he'll always be Kelly Leak to me.

Sweet, another Lehane adaptation! I hadn't heard Scorsese was doing it.

Shutter Island is a bit of a period piece isn't it? 50's or something?

Yes, it is.

You don't want to confuse it with "Shudder Island", the Dalton/Lance's Mom Jamaican vacation tape that's currently floating around.
