Wow! A lot of really exciting stuff this year.

In particular, I'm dying to hear about WKW's Ashes of Time Redux (obviously), Synecdoche, New York, 24 City, Wim Wenders' Palermo Shooting, the Polanski documentary, new WOODY ALLEN, new Clint Eastwood, and perhaps most exciting, Soderbergh's TWO Che Guevara films, done in the style of Eastwood's two Iwo Jima pictures.

Overall, very interesting line-up. I wish I were there.

I think I know the reasons you're talking about.

Evan Rachel Wood + Lolita chic = :censored:

Yes, but that's for the one with Larry David, this one has Scarlett and Penelope Cruz going at it for sure. And Javier Bardem, not sure what he does, but what business is that of yours?

Oh yeah. Make that two "Woodys".

And does everyone know that Natalie Portman is dating Devendra Banhart? What the fuck is that? Dirty hippie.

Fuck that.

How could she even talk to him with his head up his asshole all day?

Not sure if anyone hear remembers the old British Sci-Fi series Blake's 7 (was on around the time of the heyday of the Tom Baker Doctor Who episodes), but apparently they're going to be shooting a 2-part remake to test the waters for a revival.

If you're not familiar with it, the show is considered the primary inspiration for Joss Whedon's Firefly. Even though the SFX are as cheap as Who's, the scripts were amazing and there were some great, complex characters.

Unfortunately the show's not on DVD in the U.S. but I've managed to acquire all four seasons anyway.

This could finally be Soderbergh's year.

Finally? The guy already has an Oscar.

Jeff Wells, who wrote this article, has a blog site where he writes about movies, and this year, politics as well. He's a passionate cinephile, but is a little wacky and often goes on pretty entertaining rants. The commenters often get into pretty heated debates as well, over everything.

I read his site daily, worth a look:

I'm sure this is all over PLEBA but this is too cool not to drop into Random Movie Talk.

^ Are you telling me this is the same girl from Panic Room?

It's so weird, I remember watching Panic Room and thinking "this girl's cute, she's got a bright future" and I put it out of my mind until you just brought it up.

WOW.

Wow, I'm really sorry, but the discovery of a grown-up Kristen Stewart has literally made my day.

She's kinda got an Evan Rachel-Wood vibe goin, too.

I'm gonna track her down and ask her out on a date.

All growns up.

Yeah, there's a little Evan, hopefully minus the Scary Goth-Star Fucking.

If she turns you down for that date, try not to kill her. You know, give someone else a chance.

I'll definitely be picking up I'm Not There (aka Best Film of 2007) when I get home this weekend.

That girl in Into the Wild reminded me of a sort of mini-Zooey, what with the singing and all. Damn...

There's a whole lot of interview footage of Todd Haynes on this, and I'm just so amazed by what he brought to this project.

Also a really nice little tribute to Heath Ledger on there, just a montage out outtakes but still. Just for that, I'm sticking with this avatar even longer.

Anyone heard about the Jimi Hendrix sex tape?

I'm trying to suppress an urge to start altering his song titles to give this thing a name.

Tryin', Ringo. Tryin' reeeeal hard.

I already saw this. I read AICN daily, though I rarely post in the talkbacks anymore, which have become more and more juvenile. I was all over that thing 10 years ago. Would you believe there used to be intelligent discourse about film on that site?

Sorry, nice rack, is that what you wanted to hear? :eyebrow:

I wouldn't mind undoing that doodle.
