I enjoy the occasional piece of shit, as long as it's not conscious of it. There's some entertainment to be found there. I think it takes as much work to make one of the "worst" movies of all-time as it does to make one of the "best," it just works in reverse.

You might be overselling that a bit. I'm pretty sure it doesn't take a whole lot of work to make an awful movie... just a bunch of wondrously un-talented people.

But if there's anything I hate more than genuinely awful movies, it's movies that purposely ape themselves as awful movies *cough*Shoot 'Em Up*cough

Damn, which thread stays?

Right, but how often are there earnestly terrible films with any entertainment value? Usually, it comes down to self-conscious shit (Megashark vs. Octowhatever) or plain awful bland shit. I may be overselling it, but there is some bizarro effect at work here.

Or maybe we should all just post everything twice in each thread so they both stay open? Let's just get one closed and be done with it. The mods can choose.

Or better yet, why don't we create a third thread with a poll where people can vote on which they'd rather post in? That fits in with the Interference tradition, wouldn't you say? Or if you don't think that's a good idea, we could hold a vote for whether we should do a poll or not.

Interference tradition would have the mods coming in here and telling us we're not talking about movies enough, and then moving us to Out of Control.

:stillbitter:

Also, Band of Brothers was very good, but not the second coming. What puts it above Saving Private Ryan is that it doesn't go for these big, cheap movie moments, and also has acutal well-drawn characters.

Worth the journey.

I dig a good miniseries when it gets a decent enough budget to work with. Do you guys remember the NBC series from a few years back called The 10th Kingdom? Haven't seen it since it aired, but I loved it.

I usually get really excited for miniseries like this in advance then completely forget to actually watch the damn things. Hopefully wherever I'm living when this one airs gets HBO.

Impy said - I watched a good bit of Jurassic Park (HEY!) a few days ago. This led to to imagining how bad it would have been with all CGI dinosaurs. But it didn't go that route, and thus Jurassic Park kicks ass.

apart from Jurassic 2, I love the films. in fact, movies like that and many others could have been done Cloverfield style - banned from the cinema but available for home viewing to shut the heck of people up who complain about feeling so dizzy in the cinema.

wear a blindfold! :crack:

Actually, Id pay for Impy to pen 4.

Actually, Id pay for Impy to pen 4.

Trust me, nobody wants that. Half the scenes would just be the dinosaurs screaming "HEY!" at Sam Neill. It might work better as a short film.

I'd rather have a root canal and a prostate exam at the same time than watch either Transformers movie.

I'd rather sit spread eagle on the ground, flop my balls onto the hot concrete, and have them hit with a frozen sledgehammer.

dude, you could SO pen up scenes with a four-balled dino.

Well now we need to figure out if I'm trying to make a legitimate thriller or just dinosaur porn.

Laz and Impy are definately 'straps and hardcore pain' boys.

I think his mustache indicated that a long time ago:

No one is that into leather without liking a little bondage.

In Laz's defense, he did go into every shop in LA asking for something to said "Daddy likes leather."
