how important is music?

with hundreds of people dying everyday how important can music be

the same argument could be made for sports

but I think music can act as more than just a distraction

Music is soothing. It's healing, and it also has the power to get you completely lost in it...a temporary distraction from pain.

When a New Orleans resident at the Ryan Adams board posted about what she has gone through so far, my first thought was that I wanted the address of where she was staying so I could mail her my old Discman and a bunch of Ryan Adams bootlegs to help build her collection back up. Thinking about sending her money was actually my second thought.

...we learn to live again

seriously, both music and sports, in my case, my football club and my favourite bands work like some of the things that make my life make sense and be better. Of course they're not the only ones but they play an important role.

btw my clube is Clube de Futebol "os Belenenses" and if anyone comes here to Lisbon, go to out stadium, the most beautiful stadium in the world.

Music and all the arts....its like alchemy....turns base, ugly things into something beautiful...

(or something)
:hmm:
