I brought a AA battery pack add on ($100 Aussie) Works nicely....sort of works as a portable charger too when the iPod is off.......So if you dont mind using the AA's....I'd go the iPod.

What Melon said is true. The iPod's battery does eventually die, but so do all rechargable batteries.

The battery "issue" has been greatly exaggerated, and it can be replaced. I have had my iPod for two years with no problems whatsoever.
