I'm Breaking Out and I Need Some Help

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
The Arcade Fire- Neon Bible and Funeral

Snow Patrol- Eyes Open

The Killers- Hot Fuss

Kasabian- Empire

Coldplay- Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head

Green Day- American Idiot

Radiohead- anything really but I'm partial to The Bends, Ok Computer and Kid A

These are just a few. I'm also trying to expand my taste in music, much like you Phillyfan. With the new Arcade Fire, Radiohead etc... and (most likely) no new U2, 2007 is as good as year as any, in my view, to listen to new music.

Good luck.

As I've mentioned before, U2 is the primary focus of my music interests. I'm very one band right now. I feel the need to break out with a couple other groups and start listening to their stuff. I actually have an extraordinarily limited music knowledge. I've listened to very little Beatles or Pink Floyd, etc. I know I will probably hear recommendations for them and I probably will go through with those. But any other ideas from anyone?

(NOTE: I also listen to The Who, Bruce Springsteen, The Police, and Franz Ferdinand.)

So you like Franz? :D Here's a list from a Franz Ferdinand fan (not in any specific order):

The Arcade Fire - Funeral / Neon Bible
Belle & Sebastian - If You're Feeling Sinister / The Life Pursuit
Muse - Origin Of Symetry / Absolution
The Fiery Furnaces - Gallowsbird's Bark
The Killers - Hot Fuss / Sam's Town
Mew - Frengers

I hope I helped;)

U2 have always been self-important, but never tuneless. :tsk:

BTW, I too will recommend the Decemberists.

Also, if you like Franz:

Bloc Party
Futureheads
Killers

Thanks for the help guys. I haven't looked over everything but I think my first look will be to The Arcade Fire based on the what I've seen.

Listen to Tom Waits. Mule Variations first.

You might not like that type of music but it's worth a try. :)

I'm also looking to get into new music. I've been listening to alot of Regina Spektor, Lily Allen and Muse.
