Buy a house.

Buy my friend Ashley a car because she totalled hers and she's broke.

Donate some to animal shelters.

Invest the rest.

Pay off my tuition, invest it so I can afford graduate school and a place to live, help my parents find a place to retire, give to church and charities, travel.

That'll pretty much deplete it quickly

buy a house for my mom and dad, buy a house for myself and daisy in manhattan beach, and travel.

Pay off school
Buy a house
Invest
Get something nice for my parents--a trip, maybe
Travel

Buy a really expensive guitar!

Buy a house. Investment for the future.

Give my parents and siblings a share of the money. Set aside some for charities and let them choose which ones to donate to.

Send my Dad to Berlin by boat / train.

Buy a plane ticket and travel around Europe some more, go to Australia or Central/ South America (Argentina, Mexico, Guatemala, Volcan Pacaya, Carribean, the Panama Canal, Machu Picchu, Bolivia). I want to see everything.

Donate some to charity
Travel to Europe, Australia, South America, China and the Far East

I'd sell everything here. Move full-time to the beach. Buy an Audi TT, and open up a ice-cream place for fun. I've already got it planned down to the neighborhood there!!!

Invest 250,000
Donate 250,000 to charities
Give/Divide 250,000 among my friends and family

keep $250,000 to buy a car and a mac, possibly higher social status, who knows.

Already bought a Mac - social status +5, yo. No need to spend any more on anything other than iPod socks.

I've though about this a lot lately!

First, pay off all my student loans and Phil's student loans.

Second, set $50,000 aside in a fund to pay for Phil's continuing education.

Third, help pay off my parent's mortgage and any other debts.

Fourth, give some to my sister for college.

Fifth, get a house (the ones I like near my parents are just regular small family houses, 2-3 bedroom, $250,000).

Sixth, get the dogs I want (a pair of Belgian Malinois, a red Siberian Husky, and a German Shepherd).

Seventh, donate to the African Well Fund and programs I visited in Tanzania.

Finally, if there's anything left over it would be invested and set aside for moving abroad and donating to other programs or going back to school myself.

Buy my folks a house.
Buy a block of land at Orchard Hills
Buy a massive colonial kit home and build it myself.
Establish an animal shelter on the land
Buy a massive van and rekit it to be a mobile soup kitchen.

Be happy and busy.

I'd buy a lifetime supply of beef jerky, pay off all my debt and all my family's debt, buy every CD I've ever wanted, buy a big ass TV, save, donate and invest some,
buy my rooster back off the people I was forced to give him to, and then buy a place out in the desert with a ranch.

A million before or after taxes? That makes a big difference. :)

I wouldn't really change my lifestyle a whole lot, because if I went hog wild a million dollars (even after taxes) would go really quickly. I'd give some to each of my siblings (a brother and a sister) and invest a pretty hefty chunk in a safe way to generate a modest income. My big splurge would be to sponsor my favourite band.
