This "Holiday" always creeps up on me.....Any ideas would be appreciated...thanks!

......I was thinking a day spa certificate...?....again?

My wife loves it when I write her poetry. She has a book of my stuff that I keep adding to.

Saves me some dough, too.

we usually just go away for the weekend somewhere nice... nothing fancy, like a bed and breakfast type place in the mountains or something like that. Always works for me!

My boyfriend gets off the hook...he doesn't believe in Valentine's Day, so he won't buy me a gift. That means I don't have to buy him one...but I probably will anyway...because I believe in Valentine's Day! :D

What sort of things does she enjoy?

Could always be old fashioned and get flowers delivered.

I'm doing that for miss imp13 in the middle of one of her classes. It's fun to embarrass people.

A trip for two to see U2 in HAWAII with the rest of us interferencers:wink:

what kind of person is she / what does she usually like?
is she a U2 fan? hahah there's quite a bunch of stuff you could do if she was.
if she's the sentimental type, something that you made would be cute ;]

Anything under $10 because my girlfriend and I both believe it's a foolish holiday. If you really love the person, then why not show how special they are every day rather than focus on this arbitrary day.

 That's the way to go. Unless she's a material bitch who expects that you spend lots of money on her.

..good point...I try to do that.

B & B sounds good.
Flowers?........not enough?
Not a U2 fan..............really.
Casino?........:Hmm:
What porno?

...I was thinking of a surprise trip to San Francisco for the weekend...I got enough frequent mileage for both of us.....
...but then I would need a baby sitter....:|

...she is not.
And don't call her material.

I did the spa thing once - she came back and said she did not the feel of someone elses hands on her back (so I retain the backrub monopoly :sexywink: ).

Small and personal will win the day.

Once, I bought a box of valentines for kids (the kind you hand out in class), wrote a short note on each one and hid them thoughout the house. She loved searching for them.

Last year, I got her a basket for her bike and filled it with small, fun items (candies, soaps, etc.). Everything was pink.

If you have kids, there are plenty of creative fun items that you can get from digital pictures of the kids.

:hmm: from a girl's point of view, i'd like something that didn't cost a lot, maybe taking her to do something where you first met (unless it's an icky or otherwise weird place), i  all of nbcrusader's ideas, i would just keep it simple

That's my plan... I'm gonna tell my guy (when I get one that is :grumpy: ) that I don't want anything special on Valentine's day, rather I expect something special every damned day!!!! :D

Now THAT is one heckuva a great gift! Valentine's Day or no Valentine's Day.

Personally I think it is over-rated and just an excuse for card companies, restaurants and florists to make lots of extra moolah! In a relationship shouldn't EVERY day be Valentine's Day?!!! :giggle:

you know RedRocks...I haven't opened this thread up until now because I truly thought you were trying to get ideas for gifts for ME.

I guess not. :sigh: :(

And don't call me Shirley.
