Hey Bonoooooooooooooooooooooooooochick.... I just found your package in the mail today. I'm popping it in right now! :D

I'm nervous that you haven't told me what you thought yet.

*cough*

:shifty:

Glad you got yours, IWB!!!!

:der:
Sorry BC, I'm such a :reject: ... ;)

Actually, I've listened to your Ryan Adams myx several times this week... and I REALLY DO like it. My favorite songs are "Burning Photographs", "So Alive", "Gonna Make You Love Me", "Shallow", "English Girls Approximately", and "La Cienega Just Smiled."

Ryan Adams makes me think of Bob Dylan frontin' a punk band. :)

Oh...re: other people's FYI, so BC's tracklisting was as follows:

1. World War 24
2. Desire
3. Gonna Make You Love Me
4. So Alive
5. Afraid Not Scared
6. Hallelujah
7. Somehow, Someday
8. Shallow
9. Shakedown on 9th Street
10. English Girls Approximately
11. Cry on Demand
12. La Cienega Just Smiled
13. Anybody Wanna Take Me Home
14. Oh My Sweet Carolina
15. Avalanche
16. Dear Chicago
17. Sylvia Plath
18. Burning Photographs
19. Come Pick Me Up

(BTW, I made CD covers with tracklistings for IWB, Mr.B1, and BC's CDs to go with my spare CD cases. No graphics tho, because I don't have a color printer.)

Sorry again, BC, that I haven't mentioned my response to your CD any sooner....

I'm so terrible... I haven't even prepared a tracklisting for you, IWB, Mr.B1, Ms.Angie, and popmofo... because I don't know if I could live up to your music mixes... :help: (HONESTLY AND SERIOUSLY! I mean, popmofo already knows the kind of music I listen to...)

I have a school test next monday... and after next week, spring break... So hopefully I'll start cracking on it next weekend.

I'm so glad you like it!!!!!!!!!!!

I listened to "English Girls Approximately" probably 10 times in the car today. That's my current Ryan song obsession.

and i'm enjoying it very much. finally getting a chance to hear 'do miss america' and 'luminol' because the radio station's copy of that album vanished before i got through the whole thing. not to mention i get to keep them all for myself...(not to mention the bazzillion and a half--19 songs and it's not a punk rock band, amazing--songs i don't know at all)

i don't mean to laugh, but that was exactly why i wanted to be sure to send out mixes early :shifty: dedicate a couple boring classes to revising some track lists and get it done quick because i knew i'd be getting kick ass mixes that would give mine major inferiority complexes. see, if i'd waited, that's exactly what would have happened cos everything i've got is awesome.

yeah mofo's a tough one. when 90% of your conversations with someone over the course of a year are about the kinds of music you listen to, it's interesting trying to put together a mix of stuff for them that you don't think they know. speaking of mofo...where the hell has he been?

holy shit i'm a DORK!!!

soulful, take your time.

iwb is that address you sent your school addy or home? im wandering if you want me to send yours to school, if you're back there now.

i feel like such a turd over this. its always the way with me - miss 'rely on me for nothing cos something will pop up and i will end up not doing schit'. for ages ive been meaning to send a few other people random cds. then thought well if i do this i will get them all done cos i will be more determined to get it finished. so i had the tracklists and everything all set up, then the comp died and yada yada.
sorry, they are coming guys.
:sigh:

i sent you my school address. i'm at school until the third week of may. my mom would freak out if packages started turning up at home.

i must now go on a mission to exterminate the fly buzzing around my room.

BTW, since Angie never bothers posting the tracklisting I'll have to do it myself. So here are the songs I burned for Angie. I called the mix The Trip, although I still cringe when I see the title (but somehow it still seems very appropriate).

Anyway:
The Trip
1. The Chemical Brothers - Leave Home
2. Bon Jovi - Keep The Faith
3. Lou Reed - Lisa Says
4. Catatonia - Road Rage
5. Urban Dance Squad - Mental Floss For The Globe
6. Texas - Black Eyed Boy
7. Elvis Costello & The Attractions - I Want You
8. Bob Dylan - Tangled Up In Blue
9. Crowded House - Private Universe
10. Radiohead - Exit Music (for a film)
11. Bruce Springsteen - Worlds Apart
12. Bob Marley - War
13. Michael Franti & Spearhead - Oh My God
14. Emmylou Harris - The Pearl
15. Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

It's quite mainstream, but that's the way I intended it to be.

:)

Marty

I FINALLY have a CD burner, so if we do this again I can make CDs instead of tapes! (Well, I hope I can anyway, I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.)

Man, I haven't made a CD mix for a long... First time on this computer, ... the CD-R takes like 3 sec. to rip one song into MP3... and then I just have to burn it as a *.cda onto a disc.

This is gonna take shorter than I thought!
:D
