Lemonite, I take your point(s). My roundabout point I guess (apart from the obvious that I don't like you very much LOL), is that a little give and take is part and parcel of being in a society. I think the actual 'costs' that are ever likely to be incurred by the extremely obese (which is what we are talking about, right?), spread out so thinly across the tax-paying public as to be irrelevant.
Anyway, it's an argument for another time I suppose. User-pays has its place but I am not a fan of user-pays at any cost to personal dignity etc. And yeah, if I was 800lbs, I probably WOULD want to feel good. It beats the alternative.
