I had an 87 camry with 175,000 miles on it that never gave me problems, and then it got smushed by a truck

I would not suggest GM cars, I have a Grand Am and it is a total pile. Something breaks on it every couple of months without fail. I have probably put several thousand dollars on it in the 2 years I've had it. My mom has an '02 or '03 Malibu, and recently one of the gaskets broke and it cost 1400 to fix, not to mention all the problems they have with their anti-theft systems. We also had an Oldsmobile in the 80s that completely fell apart after only a couple of years.

I have 282,000 miles currently on my Toyota...I should get on one of those commercials.
Generally speaking Toyotas are quality vehicles. the check engine light could be anything, including a gas cap that wasn't properly secured. Either way, if it has only 15 mile, obviously whatever the problem is will be under warranty, and if it persists the lemon law will cover you.

165K miles on my 93 Toyota Camry......and it's just starting to have issues now. It's been very good to us.

I bought a 2002 american jeep - the Liberty - 63K miles on it and the trasmission just went.....

buy foreign...I hate to say it, but they make better cars.

I had over 190K on the 94 Toyota Tercel I had when I got out of school. Sadly, the engine started to go and it was retired a couple of years ago.

But the Corolla I have is now up over 160K and still going strong...

I would never buy Ford again. I had a brand new Escort in 1995 for two weeks when it decided to blow up in my garage for no discernible reason. Apparently the company has a bad history for its cars and vans doing that.

Anyway, I drove my replacement car, a Toyota Tercel for 10 years and never had a problem. Not one. Ever.

My dad is loyal to Toyota / Honda. He used to love a Camry of his, but traded it in a couple of years later... not because of any problems but that's just what he does. He changes cars are often as his socks.

I have a '04 Honda Civic, it has 20,000 miles, I bought it a year ago with 16,000 miles--i'm putting 4,000 miles/year at this rate. (does this mean I should get out more?)

Love my CorollaS - It's 2.5 years old now. Toyota will take care of you - probably just something simple with the light coming on. Don't give up on it yet

Yeah, it's under warranty for 5 years, 100K miles.
It's just annoying that a new car has problems afer 48 hrs.

I have an 01 Toyota Camry 75,000 miles--have done nothing to it but change the oil. My husband has 94 T100--almost 200,000 miles & my daughter has an 89 Camry over 200,000 & both still going strong. Toyota-you asked for it you got it! Had a Dodge van for a while--POS--it wouldn't run when it rained!
