To mourn the sudden loss of my one and only cat,
who hasn't been home since Tuesday and by now, probably never will. I have no clue what has happened to him and that makes it the more difficult. Please take a minute of silence to remember Pancho.:(

You will be missed dearly

I'm sorry to hear that.

You remember the Feline Appreciation Thread that I made way back one? I remember seeing a picture of Pancho and telling you he was a less furry version of my Butters.

I'm so sorry about Pancho.

Such a beautiful cat.

awww, he's a cutie! I can empathize. About two months ago my cat Tilé left and never returned. I don't know if he got hit by a car or eaten by a kid. Either are likely possibilities in the part of the world where I live.

I like to think of him finding a wife and settling down in some other corner of the city, making a new life with a nice girl kitty.

I hope so too. And it's not unheard of either. I had a cat that despite being fixed liked to wander. He would often take off for a few days, never more than a week. But one time he didn't come home after a week and I was sure he was gone forever. But sure enough, after two weeks he came home.

I'm hoping for the same outcome for Pancho.

no, I believe the way it works is that a shleter would scan him and then the # shows up and then they contact the company and get my info
however, my cat hasnt had his collar with the little microchip tag and i'm doubting that the shelter scans every pet that goes in

don't give up hope:hug: I've known kitties to be gone for days..years even and show up back home:hug:

Elevation...contact the shelters, even if you think it won't do any good...when we adopted our dogs they said they do scan every pet:yes: and even if he isn't there they will keep an eye out incase they do get him...they will also get in touch with other shelters and vets too so they can keep thier eyes out for him..its worth a try to get your little buddy back:hug:

I think they do scan every animal (I don't see why they wouldn't), b/c it's more money for them to have to keep an animal, so they'd rather get them back to the owner. It would be stupid for them not to scan, since shelters are usually the ones pushing for microchips and offering them at reduced prices (Beckham got his at a Humane Society open house). However, most shelters only hold animals for a few days before putting them up for adoption, transfering them to a rescue, or euthanizing them. I would call every shelter in the area and ask if they have your cat or ask for them to be on the lookout. Also, make sure his contact info is up-to-date online if you haven't already. The numbers are useless if no information was ever entered online.

Best of luck, I hope he comes home on his own

good luck, he might come home still. we had a cat who came to us as a kitten from the local pub (long story) and while she liked us and all, she never quite got domesticated. she loved wandering. sometimes for up to 2 weeks or more at a time. she'd always wander back home, casual as you like.

was he an indoor kitty?
at least that would make some sense,
but my cat was like 89% outdoor all his life, he knew the neighborhood well
so I'm quite baffled at his sudden disappearance

I havent seen him runover so that's ruled out

Im guessin- coyote? or maybe someone took him in - he was toooo people friendly and maybe they assumed he was a stray?

both of those ideas suck but they're more comforting than to think some creep did something bad to him.
