I need codecs

Hey guys,

I downloaded a video that I needed (avi format) only the danb thing won't play! No sound, no video, etc. I have other avis on my computer and they weork fine, so is it possible that I'm just missing some specific codec needed for this file?

What OS are you on? On my Mac, I use VLC from videolan.com for all my video needs. It plays everything.

I'm on Xp, btw.

DivX...I tried to d/l it before, but when I attempted to start up the program, there WAS no program. It's ahrd to explain. It's like, for some reason, I downloaded all the Divx components, readmes, etc, but the actual divx.exe file wasn't there.

Then again, that was through Kazaa, so....

why would you download it off of kazaa when you could just go straight to divx.com to get it?
