As much as people call electronic music cold and unemotive, some of it is the most ethereal and pristinely beautiful sounding stuff I think I've heard, especially if you slap on a good female vocalist

I listen to a lot of electronic music compared to most people I know. I especially listen to trance, and the name is completely apropos. So many times I've listened to a trance mix and it has sent me into another state of mind. There are so many beautiful electronic songs and some very talented vocalists out there (Justine Suissa probably being one of the best). A 'few' of my favorite electronic songs:

depeche mode, kraftwerk etc. are classical electro, excuse the labelling, however

or do i misinterprete the difference between electro and electronic music?

yeah it does. electronica can be defined as:
any piece of music which uses synthetically generated sound and has one of the following true
-the electronics are not made to sound like they aren't electronic
-has an irregular song-structure
-doesn't have rapping
-has a regular song structure but is made by a little known artist

electro is rather different from electronica, being music that has dominant electronics and is generally upbeat/european sounding/spunky.
