eat me and tell me this didn't convert you to hare krishna

1 1/4 cup red lentils
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 tsp tumeric
1 medium onion, chopped
800ml cold water

Put together. Bring to boil. Simmer for 20 minutes until lentil is soft. Do not spit into it.

Curry:
2 very heaped tablespoons of Patak's Korma Curry Paste (a widely available brand)
1 chopped onion
2 heaped tsp fresh ginger
3 tsp crushed garlic
3/4 cup of stock or plain water
chopped vegetables

Saute onion, ginger, garlic. Add curry paste. Stirring is important. Add vegetables, tumeric if you like, stock/water. Simmer for 5-10 minutes. Add all this to the lentil.

I will do this favour only once

Same here, minus the curry paste. Sounds good, I'll have to try it like that.

Lentils....delicious and inexpensive. Plus, they make me think of Neil from The Young Ones and that is always a good thing.
