The last time I was between jobs, I applied at various temp agencies and tested over 100 wpm at two different agencies.

"You play the piano, don't you?" is a question I got a lot. I used to, so I don't know if that still figures into my fast typing, or if it's just my hyper mind.

I just took an online test and scored 103 WPM with 99% accuracy (one mistake).

I always hated to put a really high WPM on my resume, because I figured if a potential employer was to test me on it, I would surely get way too nervous and screw up royally.

PRACTICE.

Before I starting spending hours a day on forums, I could only type with one finger at a time. Now I can use up to three at a time, and I never had any formal training.
