How good is REM's cover of Toys in The Attic?

Is it on Dead Letter Office? I haven't listened to that in years, so I should fish it back out.
 
Yeah, it's on Dead Letter Office..........it's good, but I'd still take the original anyday.

Lol----Yeah, rocking out has never been an REM forte. As much as I've liked them over the years, anger, aggression or any other aspect of 'intensity' hasn't been their strong suit.

I don't know... I'd say These Days, Orange Crush, Auctioneer, and several tracks from Monster and New Adventures verge on death metal, or something similar :wink:

Seriously, I'd put Orange Crush up there with Bullet the Blue Sky as a brooding, charged rocker.

And Toys in the Attic holds its own as a fist-pumper too.
