Lol----Yeah, rocking out has never been an REM forte. As much as I've liked them over the years, anger, aggression or any other aspect of 'intensity' hasn't been their strong suit.

I don't know... I'd say These Days, Orange Crush, Auctioneer, and several tracks from Monster and New Adventures verge on death metal, or something similar

Seriously, I'd put Orange Crush up there with Bullet the Blue Sky as a brooding, charged rocker.

And Toys in the Attic holds its own as a fist-pumper too.
