psst...If you ever need that kind of info, I can get it for less than $10 as long as its for a legitimate purpose i.e. the info you needed for your SEC registration.

I have direct access to the same service those other companies use but I don't add a mark up to my fees. And for really good friends, I ususally don't charge anything at all

i dont see why you are so worked up over this
Actually, Iris has every right to be upset.... if you've ever had a stalker, it's pretty damn scary to find stuff that is easily attainable about yourself on the internet. I had a stalker and after his initial contact with me (invading my personal space and asking about my red hair), it was no fun to see him hanging outside my work, asking questions about me to my coworkers and having him follow me around. Eventually, I got him removed from the premises by the mall security, but there was nothing they could really do to the guy except make him stay away for six months. I left that job soon after the incident anyway and never saw him again, but it still affected me.

I didn't like it one bit. I've been abused in the past and I am very wary of people. Iris really does have a right to be concerned and Charlene is right - it's really a shame that there is so much information available to anybody with $40.00 and a computer.

to you Iris.

im just saying, she was mad that the internet has her name, address and phone number available. and that is supposed to be like an invasion of privacy or something, but if you are listed in the phone book it has exactly the same information. and you have to be listed in the phone book for this information to be on the web. so why should someone freak out that their info is on the web if it is in the phone book, a stalker would find it either way. i think people are a little too afraid of the internet sometimes, i blame it on the movie "The Net."

weeeeellll, I believe that even if you don't have your info listed in the phone book - just your first initial, last name and phone number, people still have access to your address and other pertinent information.

I personally liked the movie The Net - Sandra Bullock rocks. But, I digress. I just think that Iris is sensitive to this issue, that's all.

No harm, no foul.

chizip you really don't understand why i was upset. i see your point but you don't fully see mine. i don't think mr. spilane in Seattle has a phone book sitting around for every city for the State of GA. if he is still as insane as he was then he very well can log on to the internet and type my name in and find where i live within seconds versus having to dig around and wonder if i still live in the same city that i did when i was in college. it is all to easy for that bastard to hunt me down. having police escorts back and forth from campus to my apartment and having to worry about my safety was not fun. having letters mailed to my home threatening to kidnap me and to break in to my apartment was not a comforting feeling. so when i see my personal information available on the internet it freaked me out. but again you don't fully understand so i will not continue to explain.
