I'll do it, I don't want to be at home today. My father started off this morning by being nasty to me after I had just woken up. I made the grave mistake of turning the heat off because it gives me a headache and I can't breathe. He starts off, "Cold enough for you! All you ever think about is yourself! I might as well move out!"

All this, as I said, after I literally just got out of bed and walked to the kitchen .

Happy Thanksgiving.

Yesterday, someone came in to work and tried to bribe our plan checker with 2 tickets to see the Rolling Stones last night at Dodger Stadium. She wouldn't take them so the guy left them on the counter. So she picked them up and threw them in the trash and the supervisor came over later and ripped them up.

We are not allowed to accept ANYTHING at work.

I hope they were crappy seats.

I'm not sure what our policy is regarding 'gifts'

This is so ridicuous. The gift shop at the theatre is making the full time employees wear red logo shirts with navy pants. The volunteers are supposed to wear a similar outfit but the colors haven't been decided yet. We also don't even get the logo shirt. So I have to buy new clothes to volunteer now? Actually, I did buy new clothes for my two 4 hour shifts a month. I don't really have to dress up at either job so I went out and bought a few nicer sweaters and other shirts to wear that are a little more on the dressy side. Now I'm not even going to be able to wear them when I work!

The paid staff is in an uproar. I think they're going to all go on strike. No one works there for the money so the theatre is screwed if everyone quits. All of the long time paid staff are there for the benefits of working for one of the biggest performing arts organization in the Twin Cities. Our boss at the gift shop emails us all weekly reminders of stuff. So everyone has all of the staff/voluneteer email addresses. I can't even believe the nerve of some of the staff the way they are casually talking in emails about this. It's at least 50 people. How do they know that it's not going to be forwarded to our boss or even someone on the board? It stifles artist freedom, which the theatre so proudly represents, by making the staff wear a uniform. But complaining about it in emails with 50 people is not a good idea at all. One of the emails just said "let's just keep this between us and away from our boss...." Not a good thing. I totally agree with them that it's a bad idea. I also feel really bad for any of them that work there on a very regular basis. Now they have to go out and buy navy pants. Who wears navy pants these days?!?! I just think they need to stop with the emails before someone says something to get themselves fired.

Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Today I have successfully invented the Death by Chocolate Cookie.

Trader Joe's Chocolate Chocolate Chip Baking Mix + 1 cup Toll House Chocolate Chunks = a delicious death

So round one of the move took place this morning. It was just about everything that's going to the house with me......including ALL of my clothes! I only have my pj's from last night and the clothes on my back in my apartment. Now I have to drive all the way back to the house to change before going to my aunt and uncles. Nothing is really all that far from each other but my the Thanksgiving house is a lot closer than my parents house.

I just took down all of my pictures around my apartment. I have a feeling I'm going to quickly lose the battle to put anything up in my room at the house. Red Rocks Edge is going up no matter what because there's still a nail in the way from the last time it was hanging. But other than that I'm sure I'll be shot down to hang anything up. How sad.
