"honestly"

i believe
i believe
i believe
i believe the love you talk about with me
is it true, do i care
honestly, you can try to wipe the memories aside
but it's you that you erase

'cause there's no place that i could be without you
it's too far to discard the life i once knew
honestly, all the weather storms are bringing
are just a picture of my dreams
'cause when i think of you as mine
and allow myself with time
to lead into the life we want
i feel loved, honestly
i feel loved, this honestly

i believe you mean the best that life can bring
i believe in it all
honestly, you can try
your heart is just as long as mine
is it ours to let go

'cause there's not place that i could be without you
it's too dark to discard the life i once knew
honestly, a single wrong is not enough
to cover up the pain in us
'cause when i think of you as mine
and allow myself with time
to lead into the life we want
i feel loved, honestly
i'll make a joke so you must laugh
i'll break your heart so you must ask
is this the way to get us back

i don't know, honestly
i don't know this, honestly

there's no place that i could be without you
honestly

there's no place that i could be, without you
there's no place that i could gleam, without you
there's no place that i could dream, without you
there's no place that i could be, without you

My boyfriend introduced me to Zwan...why did I never know about them before? I've only heard live stuff of theirs. They're playing here in December I believe at this show for a radio station.

They really haven't had much press about the band at all, just occasional mentions as a work in progress. But now I hope that they make themselves distinct from SP, or at least in the eyes of the media.

I'm skeptical of the whole thing

from what I've heard it's very pumpkins-y

and it's basically the pumpkins anyway (three original members of 4)
which begs the question...why did they break up anyway?

Billy said he hated competing with bubble gum pop a la brittany and BSB...but then he comes right back into again with basically the same band

I thought james

anywho...I stand by my skepticism still

I'll give it a listen though. I'm sure It'll be decent

how does billy corgan avoid sounding like himself?

of course there will be some similarities, but I've listened to all the crappy sound quality bootlegs from the last year, and I disagree about them sounding like the pumpkins

corgan has always brought a distinct sound and style to the pumpkins, which evolved from album to album, I think this will just be the next step for him, if it has shades of pumpkins past in it, what's the big deal? i don't know if it's possible for him to not sound at least a little bit like the smashing pumpkins... he's not gonna suddenly turn into badly drawn boy or the flaming lips :sexywink:

btw, Zwan is performing in DC on Dec 13 at the WHFS Xmas Festival, and Dec 15 in Philadelphia at the Y100 Xmas Festival

james is doing his own stuff btw, just released a solo album

those are beautiful lyrics, but what else would you expect?

actually you were right, I think his writing is more upbeat I guess that what it was in the Pumpkins.
they sound similar, but different somehow, but then again who wouldn't want the Pumpkins again??? :D

Those lyrics are incredible! It's really rare that a love song comes along that's so sweet and passionate and full of feeling and at the same time doesn't end up sounding trite or pretentious or cliche. It really is no small accomplishment.

Good song, too!
